Darth Groban? LOL. In Russian it sounds like Darth Coffin. XD

P1na: To make this movie, they made Kyle Katarn non-canon. That is enough to hate it.
Honestly, much as I like the Dark Forces\Jedi Knight games, I never really treated any of that as really in canon with the movies. Same goes for the rest of the Extended Universe. And really, it would have been impossible to make any new movies dragging all that baggage. The only retcon that makes no sense to me is making the original Clone Wars cartoon non canon. Not only was it way better than the prequel movies, but also without it Revenge of the Sith makes even less sense.

I think it may be a reference to Josh Groban.

I see. Probably it is. Thanks.
Of course this wasn't related to Russian word "Grob" (and "groban" is a slang term, meaning big coffin). But it's kinda funny. :D

Yes that movie also established General Grievous who was even more intimidating in the 2003 series.

Which pissed me off that the 2008 Clone Wars is considered canon especially since in that show Anakin and Obi-Wan already fought with Grievous yet in the movie they talk like its the first meeting.

To put it better, he was only intimidating in the cartoon. In the movie he was just silly and totally unnecessary. And I always loved how if you haven't seen the cartoon, you'd have no idea why he is coughing. It's like the separatists just designed a coughing droid, WTF :D

tinyE: Slightly OT, the first trailer for the new "Independence Day" is out.
avatar
Breja: Is it bad that I'm way more excited for that then for the new Star Wars? I really love Independence Day, as far as big, stupid blockbusters go it's one of my favourites. I always watch it with the biggest, dumbest "fuck yeah" grin. The sequel probably won't be nearly as fun, but I still hope it might be. And honestly? I think even the trailer is better than the Star Wars ones. It's about getting excited for the new movie, while Star Wars are all about getting nostalgic for the old ones.
I never grew up watching Independence Day as 90s kid surprisingly.

If your a bigger nerd into the lore you know that he is not a complete robot. He's a Cybernetic Organism. He was once an alien creature that became a Cyborg.

I know. I was talking about what it looks like if you only go with what's in the movie.

I think people would still guess he's not a robot esecially that close-up of his eyes.

Anyway Independence Day. The last movie to star Lone Starr.

I never seen the movie in its entirty only bits and pieces. But personally I kinda prefer Speilberg's War of the World when it comes to Alien Invasion movies.
In short I'm the only one, when I was a kid obviously, who found General Grievous a sort of badass villain? At least esthetically? I still remember the moment he start to use four light sabers!

I did, and I wasn't a kid. I have just gotten tired of defending myself from the fact that, as shit as they were at times, I really loved those movies.

They both sucked. But at least Independence Day had some tongue in cheek humor and had fun with the ridiculousness of it all. War of the Worlds was a pointless rehash of a 60 year old low-budget classic.

When Spielberg gets around to directing a remake of Manos Hands of Fate, let me know.

Uh War of the Worlds was a book which was than adapted to the Infamous Orson Welles Radio Brodcast, and then this 60s movie, and then 3 other movies in 2004.

And come on that initial War Machine reveal in the Tom Cruise one was horrifying.

He'd fuck it up by using CGI for the Manos robe. Trust me! :P
