mistermumbles: Just watched it this morning. It was pretty damn good actually. I definitely was pleasantly surprised. JJ did a commendable job with this one. As far as I'm concerned, it's about as good as one could have expected.

The wooden acting is gone (hooray!), the charm's back in, and I think they did a bang-up job going back to the old industrial design of tech with bits of modernization here and there. Of course you have your fan service bits at parts, some of which very much enticed laughs, but it's nothing that was played up much, thankfully.

Well, I had fun.

Funnily enough, I was looking at the new Battlefront game afterwards - I'm sure there'll be an uptick of sales now that the movie is out - but I couldn't get excited of the average gameplay from the beta. It looked and sounded phenomenal, but the game itself wasn't fun enough; I rather go back to the oldies for some Star Wars gaming. I ended up picking up a new copy of Dying Light for $20 for my Xbox One instead. I had fun with the demo, and for that price point I should be reasonably entertained with it.
Have you heard about Daniel Craig's cameo? I won't say in here but PM me of you care.

I can't believe they got away so easily, with a simple cut and paste of the first(4 lol) movie.
that gg(or is it jj? whatever) director fooled them all and look at the praise he's getting now, lol
if that copy paste is true then the amount of brainwash is immense

I admit I liked sw when I was a little kid but then I grewup i moved over. Now, when I see something sw-related I laugh my ass of thinking how this dumb mediocre kiddie movie has so many adult "fans".

it's hilarious I tell ya :) space balls rules btw

(and yes, thats entirely valid if you speak English!)
My my my,such vulgar words from a little man.You should be reported and I would if I knew how.

tinyE: Fair enough, but I still loved it and I still say, best one since Empire. :P
And don't forget, it was Shakespeare who said there were only six plots.
Come on, let's not use Shakespeare to justify this copy-paste movie :P

I'm a SW fan too, but just not a SW7 one.
The DS n3 was too much for me.
Anyway sure, if you enjoyed the movie a lot, I have no reason to insist and spoil your fun. ; )

PookaMustard: And killing off one of the most beloved in the franchise is not a spoiler now?

Anyways, I don't care if its just as so. It is still good. I came in expecting a Star Wars movie, I got an excellent Star Wars movie. I still stand upon my say that its the best since The Empire Strikes Back. But hey, its... only the first of the three new ones.

Notice that in your lazily-done summary thing, there is no mention of Finn...
As much as a would happily take credit for it, I received it via email. I believe it's floating around cyberspace turning up here and there. Anyways, lighten up it's just a poorly crafted rip off of Star Wars ANH with a bit of Empire thrown in directed by JJ Abrahams.

Lol yeah and they've already used up all six. But look, as a kind of disclaimer, as far as the originals go (4,5+6)great childhood memories and I still enjoy them and 1-3 aren't all that bad really - I think for a lot of people that had more to do with expectations.

JJ Abrahams directed it. This guy's a real hollywood hack - he's a total twat! (Do a search on some quotes from him, he really is an a***hole.) IMO he botched the Star Trek reboot too. He makes Jerry Brookheimer look like Ingmar Bergman. As far those who like or don't like it, the best thing that can be said about this artless ripoff is it's kind of sorting out the men and women from the boys and girls.

Hey hey! Just kidding kids! It's ok to enjoy PC Disneyfied remakes masquerading as sequels of classic films.

Lol ! Yeah, at times this empty farcical "product" was just a few notches removed from <i>Mel Brooks</i>' [url=http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2774972928/tt0094012?ref_=tt_ov_i]Spaceballs. May the Schwartz be with you! X-D

Your positive mindless reviews are beating IQ points out of me. I'm literally fucking dumber now thanks you happy simpletons. Great.
I loved it.

Exactly. +1 to you.

This movie is just a rehash of "A New Hope".

The thing that I really find disturbing is that this idiotic moron by the name of tinyE was going batshit insane about this movie when I said that Han Solo is killed by his own son in a certain scene of the movie.

Now he is acting to the point that he is forcing himself to like this movie.

He keeps saying "I loved this movie" and "I loved it". He is forcing himself to like a shitty movie.

I like your attitude. :)
And yes, you are right about it being poorly crafted (it contains several errors such as the specific details in the Lor San Tekka part) but that doesn't obfuscate the main point. Most film synopses could easily pass a similar word substitution test comparing them to those of other films though.
