These games aren't for me, but I'm glad to see more retro games coming to GOG for all the fans who enjoy it.

laser squad next, please!

I'd also like to read an interview or something where someone from Ziggurat explain how they managed to acquire the rights to so many old games so quickly (relatively speaking).

I knew of Shadowlands and barely about Sabre Squad in the past, but I was not aware of the existance of a sequel Shadoworlds.

Sabre Squad will be a good addition for my collection of games like XCOM or Jagged Alliance.

I have only played the games slightly just to configure them and test it a bit.

Sabre Squad seems to be a game based in canned missions, I'd like to ask how many of them are. Because apparently only a campaign is available, no squirmish mode etc.

It is going to be fun. The UI could be better, it is icon based but they are clear enough to know intuitively what makes each one without looking into the manual or learn arcane hieroglyphs.

Apparently It is played slowly due to the Interface but in a game like this It does not mind to me. The gameplay is slower than Xcom or the first Jagged Alliance.

I remembered Shadowlands and its sequel seems to be equally interesting. The interface like in Sabre Squad, is very oldschool but very different and unique. The manual or quick guide is needed here to know exactly how to use, look, walk in formation etc.
The use of light and shadows is very interesting and apparently it affects gameplay.

I recomend slow down Dosbox a bit in both games. I do not know but I feel they are configured a little faster than neccessary. Noticeable in the mouse speed and some animations.

There are five missions. But the game is known to be brutal, so that's more than enough. And yes, Laser Squad and Breach games would also be nice.

Well. Not too many. Should I understand that they tend to be pretty big maps, then? And are the enemy and quantity possitions fixed? Scripted? If it does, then It could be a good tactical game but very limited for replayability.

I remember Sabre Team on the Amiga getting middling reviews as the magazines of the time thought it played too slowly, but I loved the game. The PC version looks a bit more garish colour wise but I'll still buy it and hope it plays as well as it did on the mighty 'Miggy.

I second Soccer Kid. I never had a Nintendo growing up but got the relatively unknown Panasonic 3do. Soccer Kid is still one of my favorite games from that and I actually found it in storage this weekend, along with a ton of long box 3do games. I would love to see that come here as I’ve sunk countless hours into it.

How about you surprise us with GOOD retro games and not shitty games that already got bad reviews back in the day and just aged badly so they are just digital trash? It was bad enough with the Capstone shit but this? Sabre Team is pretty much X-Com/Jagged Alliance, just completely horrible, buggy and worthless.

No. Sabre Team is not X-Com/Jagged Alliance, but shittier. It has similarities which help to give an idea to people who haven't played it, how some parts of the game are, but they are not the same games. There is no overall strategic element outside of battles, other than the purchase and inventory system for weapons, accessories and personnel.
Also it is not horrible, buggy and worthless, just because you don't like it or you suck at it. Or perhaps you haven't even played it.
Sabre Team is a good game for the genre and for the time it was released.

Just because you don't like it, it doesn't make it a bad game.

For some reason I think Shadowlands will have a hard time coming back because its name is similar to World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. Homeworld: Cataclysm had the same issue and was renamed to avoid it.

You realize Shadows and Shadowlands are not the same word, right?
