Ah yes. Fall. A time of gold and scarlet, overcoats, and increasingly cozy afternoons. A fine time to start stocking up for the winter. A fine time for a gaming sale indeed… So welcome to the Big Fall Sale - 11 days of new daily deals every 12 hours, a new set of bundles every 24 hours and free games to unlock.

This implies that you don't need to buy all your games at once. GOG will track how much your account has spent over the course of the sale, and use that figure.

Or so I assume.

Has anyone tried downloading the Anno games recently? I just bought the "Classic Anno Series" on GOG and so far every download has failed. I tried an account refresh and tried redownloading the games and nothing is working. :(

omega64: Yup, that's how it works.
Also as an interesting side note it also does it according to currency. I bought on my smartphone and hadn't noticed I was set to US currency. Unlocked 2 games then when I went to switch to AUD it warned that the progress of the bonuses was tied to the currency. So I swtiched back to US, bought a couple of games and unlocked the 3 now I'm on Australian currency and just unlocked the games again :)

So I've actually unlocked 6 games, 3 under each currency. 2 Copies of each game in effect that I already owned anyway so I guess I can give some away to friends :)

You did miss some bundles and deals on Wednesday through Friday, but:
1) Deals cycle and repeat, so if you visit every 12 hours, you're likely to see them all by the end of the sale
2) GOG always recaps all its bundles on the last day or two of the sale (and often also on some day at the middle), so in all likelihood you're good there.

I'm glad that not everyone is disappointed or frustrated by this sale like I am, though. It's at least nice to know that some people are enjoying it.

froggygraphics: Why be frustrated? Its a sale, its purpose is to get you to by things you wouldn't normally by.
If I don't like a sale then I just don't by anything. If the sale fails, next time they will do it differently.

Also remember the winter sale is in a month, those are usually more comprehensive.
Yeah, you're right. I guess I let myself get a little carried away there!

Is there a Blue out there? I still am unable to download any of the Anno series. :( It keeps saying "download failed." I tried downloading other GOG games and they worked fine, so this problem is only with the Anno series. Has anyone else encountered this problem before?

Yeah, just keep checking in when the sales change. It's 9am/9pm eastern standard time for where I'm located.

Have you tried refreshing your account to see if that helps?
