Awesome daily deals and bundles up to -90%. Free games to unlock. Fuzzy squirrel on the front page.

Ah yes. Fall. A time of gold and scarlet, overcoats, and increasingly cozy afternoons. A fine time to start stocking up for the winter. A fine time for a gaming sale indeed… So welcome to the Big Fall Sale - 11 days of new daily deals every 12 hours, a new set of bundles every 24 hours and free games to unlock.

The Big Fall Sale goes to eleven. It's one better, isn't it?
Today, the last day of the Big Fall Finale, is also a day of all the remaining daily deals - there's just so many of them. It's the time to grab everything you might be kinda into, and just maybe it'll also score you a free game or two, or three.

As we wind down the deals and pack our bundles, there's just one more thing to say: thanks for joining us in the Big Fall Sale!

While you're here, grab a few extra games for free by doing your thing and shopping around. The more you spend, the more you'll get back, so when your total spendings exceed $5, $15, and $30, you'll unlock a new game for FREE. They're pretty good ones too:
--System Shock 2 - free for everyone who spends at least $5.
--The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - free for everyone who spends at least $15.
--Banished - free for everyone who spends at least $30.

Pet the squirrel, grab your nuts, stock up for winter, and stay cozy out there - the Big Fall Sale is here with 11 days of discounted gaming joy, new deals every day, free games to collect, and plenty of reasons to keep coming back! The sale will last until November 15, 1:59 PM GMT.

budejovice: I hope a few movies join the sale. Seems this is the first big one without (at this point).

This is the ONLY place to buy DRM-free video. Please don't give up yet GOG. :)
I am thinking the same too! Go go go, GOG!
I've already gotten the $30 reward, Banished. (Just clicked on my Wishlist and bought everything that were 75% off.) I can't stay home all day to wait for new items to show up on sales. So when will the new list/games show up??

Seriously the sale should have a reward threshold for $50. The last time I also got the last reward (Xenonauts) and went over.

zlep: This didn't sound right to me. Sure I could be wrong, but 7 games seemed like too many for me to miss, so I double-checked your numbers. There are 434 games on sale promoted on the main page, including the Hard West games. As you mention, you only counted the Fall Sale games, which don't include all the current promos.

That left 1 extra entry on the discounted search page, and since I knew it was there this time, it stood out. It's the Stasis Deluxe Edition upgrade. The main page advertises both the standard and deluxe editions, but not the upgrade between the two, so technically there's an item actually in the Fall Sale that didn't get advertised on the main page. Presumably GOG doesn't consider upgrade options to be sexy items...

HunchBluntley: As I mentioned, I only counted the titles in the Big Fall Sale section of the main page (basically, everything above the skinny, purple horizontal "Try GOG Galaxy..." banner, ignoring the 'Highlights' section & the 'Staff Picks' tab). Daily Bundles contain 3 + 3 + 36 +15 = 57; 'Roleplay' tab contains 58; 'Adventure' tab contains 66; 'Thinking' tab contains 124; 'Action' tab contains 123. However, in looking through the page again, I notice that the second LoH: Trails in the Sky game is in the 'Roleplay' tab, but not actually discounted (I only counted tiles, not discount flags, assuming everything in those four tabs would be discounted -- silly me). This brings the total down to 427 in the Sale section -- a difference of 8 from the 435 on the Games page. Of those eight, we have the 2 aforementioned Hard West packages (from the 'Upcoming' tab in the "normal" section of the page), the latest The Escapists DLC, the DLC pack for Hyperdipsomania Noobtuna Rhubarb (I might be a bit off on that title ;D ), and GALAK-Z (gleaned from the 'New' tab), as well as that Stasis upgrade DLC you found. That still leaves 2. Do you remember what they are? I'm sure as hell not gonna spend any more time investigating this tonight -- and by morning, there'll be newly discounted games to consider! =)

Anyway, I'm knocking off for the night. ¦ )
I didn't look at the "New" tab - I don't really see those lists as advertising games, although I suppose they are. I only counted the Fall Sale stuff up the top and the Headlines section that pushes all the latest releases and specials. The sixth game under Headlines is The Escapists main game (it's in the promo for the new DLC).

Good catch on the second Trails game not actually being discounted - there must be a second item in the search list not on the front page. I took another look, but it's not jumping out at me, and I don't have the stamina to actually check 430+ games. ^_^ I just go by intuition. Looks like the knowledge will be lost to us forever when the games switch at the 24-hour mark...

zlep: During sales the front page is unreliable about ownership. Most of my collection isn't showing as owned on the front page right now. The actual games pages are a different issue. That's definitely odd. Have you tried refreshing your account? That usually fixes weirdness like missing or partially missing games, so it's worth a try. The page that does it is:

https://www.gog.com/user/refresh
Good idea, I just hit refresh. Front page says I own Gothic 3 only, but if I click on the game it takes me to the game card page where it does show I own them all now, so it's just a bug in the way they access their database and display ownership on the homepage now it seems. I'd rather they not show ownership at all though rather than showing incorrect inconsistent ownership, but then I'd also prefer them to show a consistent price to me for a given game from one page load to the next too. Can't have everything we want though. ;oP

dick1982: Lin545 : hiding and reporting all spammy unsolicited posts from him. i know the gog staff don't give a shit, but this guy is just over-zealous and stalkerish. you want me out of your previous topics, i'm out. now get off my stinky asshole... ah fuck it, he's never listening.
avatar
Lin545: O_o
I spent 3 hours making list of discounted games to purchase, then go to the selling thread, see your question and reply that its (newer) windows not compatible, not games themselves broken. How is this unsolicited? Overzealous? Stalkerish? Stinky assholes? Boahhh.....
Don't mind the troll. (Or moron? Hard to tell.)
You just got a demonstration of why his rep is negative, but a stupid behavior like that isn't going to get him anywhere.

Lin545: Btw, just spent $36 on games, but the website setting resetted to euro. Now it shows all three points green in free codes, but when I click on green dots, every single entry, where I suppose the code should be -- is blank....! And if I try to switch to USD below, then I get a warning in that box above - and if I proceed, the bar is empty. Should I switch back to EUR below, again - three green checkpoints, with no codes inside.

Has someone been able to redeem the free code there?
You may have received your gift codes by email, along with the page display that is not working for you. Can you check the email you're registered with?

If you haven't gotten an email from GOG or you can't check it for whatever reason, then this seems like a case to contact support.

You don't get the codes by clicking on the free dots. They are sent per mail.

Random_Coffee: I'm considering grabbing Shadow Watch. Is it a good tactical game? How is it compared to X-COM?
I find it clunky and considerably more simplistic. I've only played the first mission though. Maybe you should check a playthrough on youtube to decide for yourself. If you want a game comparable to X-COM in quality, I recommend the first Jagged Alliance.
Too many Fantasy games so far, the few sci-fi and modern stuff on offer I already have. So no purchase so far.
Hoping the next round will be more interesting.

Glad it worked!

Yeah, it's a pain that the front page is iffy about ownership during sales (right when it would be most useful). Still you can console yourself that you're now consistent with the rest of the GOG community - front page info questionable, but game page info accurate. ^_^

Actually, the codes do show up on the three dots. When Lin545 mentioned it, I immediately tried it out myself, because I thought they were only sent by email, and had never thought to click there. Maybe this is the first time GOG has implemented it that way?

Looks like no FREE games this sale...

It's the second time you say that dude. There are three FREE games waiting to get unlocked in the frontpage. Even if you can't reach $30 to unlock them (which is understandable), i'm sure you could just buy something else and trade for them. That way you'll also unlock at least SS2 which is in your wishlist. ;)

No, that maybe because I purchased that as gift to myself, because Interplay bundle had quite some titles I am more interested in gifting than playing. Received just the payment confirmation and gifting code, none of the free codes. Eitherway, I already got SS2 from AdamHM challenge (thanks Adam!) and purchased Riddick myself, so the two would be also gifted or traded(exchanged). Not a big deal,.. interplay discount are so high and had so much titles I wishlisted before (Shogo, Giants, Freespace, MDK, Redneck Rampage), so I am not sad even if something went wrong.

I could be wrong, but I think he's looking for a completely free game no strings attached ala entitlement mentality.

Personally though, I'm perfectly happy with GOG limiting free gifts to people who buy stuff, especially if it discourages entitlement. :)

Something definitely went wrong. I purchased the Interplay bundle for a giveaway and got the codes for SS2 and Riddick. So buying things as gift is counting correctly toward the spent money.
I take it this means that in 3 hours and change we'll have new staff picks/roleplay/adventure/etc.?
