Awesome daily deals and bundles up to -90%. Free games to unlock. Fuzzy squirrel on the front page.

Ah yes. Fall. A time of gold and scarlet, overcoats, and increasingly cozy afternoons. A fine time to start stocking up for the winter. A fine time for a gaming sale indeed… So welcome to the Big Fall Sale - 11 days of new daily deals every 12 hours, a new set of bundles every 24 hours and free games to unlock.

The Big Fall Sale goes to eleven. It's one better, isn't it?
Today, the last day of the Big Fall Finale, is also a day of all the remaining daily deals - there's just so many of them. It's the time to grab everything you might be kinda into, and just maybe it'll also score you a free game or two, or three.

As we wind down the deals and pack our bundles, there's just one more thing to say: thanks for joining us in the Big Fall Sale!

While you're here, grab a few extra games for free by doing your thing and shopping around. The more you spend, the more you'll get back, so when your total spendings exceed $5, $15, and $30, you'll unlock a new game for FREE. They're pretty good ones too:
--System Shock 2 - free for everyone who spends at least $5.
--The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - free for everyone who spends at least $15.
--Banished - free for everyone who spends at least $30.

Pet the squirrel, grab your nuts, stock up for winter, and stay cozy out there - the Big Fall Sale is here with 11 days of discounted gaming joy, new deals every day, free games to collect, and plenty of reasons to keep coming back! The sale will last until November 15, 1:59 PM GMT.

Stream watch:

You’re sure to see tons of discounted games played by our enthusiastic #StreamTeam over at - be sure to follow us to know when we go live or check out our [url=http://j.mp/streaming_schedule]streaming schedule (via teampup)!

IronArcturus: Also, have you tried that Train Fever game at all? Is it any good?
While I'm big on simulations in general (pretty much in everything from planes to motorsport although definitely not chainsaw or lawnmower sims!) and I quite fancy old trains (beautiful machines), Train Fever isn't the kind of game I'm interested upon; it's a tycoon game basically. The reviews here on GOG expose a number of problems though so if you're interested in it, take a look at them before buying.

WinterPoet: How long does it take to gog send the email with the free games? Or does it appear on our account?
avatar
CarrionCrow: On the front page, you'll see a box that says unlocked. On mine it says unlocked (3), and when I click on it, all 3 games are present as gift codes.
Sorry didn't notice, thank you.
I had a question about the free games. Is the $15 limit cumulative, or do you have to spend that much during one time?

It's cumulative, not a one shot requirement.
Nice promo. I am only mildly interested by Grim Fandango, Toonstruck and Prehistorik 1+2 so I'll pass. I'll probably grab them some day in the future...
Oh. No insomnia? I just made big mug of coffee:)

katya_stevens: In ~10 hours the front page will update to show new daily deals, but the ones we have now will still be discounted until 2PM GMT tomorrow. New bundles will turn up at 2PM GMT, but the ones we currently have will still be discounted for another 24 hours.
I’m still confused. What exactly are the daily deals? Going to the main page I can see the four bundles, two rows of "Highlights" and then a huge block of discounted games with several tabs (staff picks, roleplay, adventure, thinking, action). Are all the games listed there daily deals? And if I click on Browse Games and select Discounted as filter, I get hundreds of discounted games. If these are all daily deals and we get new ones every 12 hours, the whole GOG catalogue will have been on discount by day 3 of the sale. Then the daily deals would have to start from the beginning? All of this doesn’t make sense to me. What am I missing?
wow... time to look at my wishlist... too bad I have the free games already.

Edit - Grabbed Shadow Watch...
The Fallout Bundle doesn't see that I own the 3 games (classic versions)... I assume these are the same things..

The four items directly under the Daily Bundles header. Those will change daily. Everything else is on sale throughout the whole sale.

Generally speaking, if an item is on regular sale, it will not be part of one of the Bundles. And there may be two "All Bundle" days, usualy midway through the sale and at the end, in which all bundles are made available at once.

They're the same games, but they are duplicated in the catalogue so they won't mark as owned if you have the original classic versions.

katya_stevens: New Daily Deals every 12 hours, lasting for 24 hours in total.

New Bundles every 24 hours, lasting for 48 hours in total.

In effect, this means you just need to check in at 2PM GMT every day to see the new deals :)
Ah, I think I get it now. Thanks :) I actually missed the 24h timer above the sales page at first. (Would have been nice to have a timer on the page itself imho).

I'm not sure that's the case...
There's a second timer for the individual games, so I assume they change too (every 12hr new ones are added and the current ones disappear after 24hr, according to Ciris and the last time they had a sale like this)

But the GOG post talks of the daily deals and the bundles being two separate things, one updating every 12 hours and the other every 24 hours:

"350+ daily deals and bundles up to -90%. Free games to unlock. Fuzzy squirrel on the front page.
... 11 days of new daily deals every 12 hours, a new set of bundles every 24 hours and free games to unlock"

And if everything else is on sale throughout the whole sale, why do the games below the bundles have a timer too?

JKeift: I'm a complete noob here at GOG and this is my first big sale. I have two questions for anyone kind enough to answer:

1) Should I wait until the last day of the sale in case a discounted game gets an even bigger discount (similar to Steam) or am I safe purchasing now?
2) Do the free-game milestones usually change or are they fixed for the remainder of the sale? That would also condition whether I buy now or later, since I already have some of the current milestones.

Thanks!
The price of a certain offer should not change though it is possible that a game that is on sale by itself may also show up later as part of a bundle in which it is even cheaper when you buy the whole bundle.

The milestones will not change so it doesn't matter if you unlock them now or later.

Ah frack, my bad. I was skating by on past experience when I should have read the announcement more clearly. Guess we'll have to see how it plays out this time.
