Awesome daily deals and bundles up to -90%. Free games to unlock. Fuzzy squirrel on the front page.

Ah yes. Fall. A time of gold and scarlet, overcoats, and increasingly cozy afternoons. A fine time to start stocking up for the winter. A fine time for a gaming sale indeed… So welcome to the Big Fall Sale - 11 days of new daily deals every 12 hours, a new set of bundles every 24 hours and free games to unlock.

The Big Fall Sale goes to eleven. It's one better, isn't it?
Today, the last day of the Big Fall Finale, is also a day of all the remaining daily deals - there's just so many of them. It's the time to grab everything you might be kinda into, and just maybe it'll also score you a free game or two, or three.

As we wind down the deals and pack our bundles, there's just one more thing to say: thanks for joining us in the Big Fall Sale!

While you're here, grab a few extra games for free by doing your thing and shopping around. The more you spend, the more you'll get back, so when your total spendings exceed $5, $15, and $30, you'll unlock a new game for FREE. They're pretty good ones too:
--System Shock 2 - free for everyone who spends at least $5.
--The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - free for everyone who spends at least $15.
--Banished - free for everyone who spends at least $30.

Pet the squirrel, grab your nuts, stock up for winter, and stay cozy out there - the Big Fall Sale is here with 11 days of discounted gaming joy, new deals every day, free games to collect, and plenty of reasons to keep coming back! The sale will last until November 15, 1:59 PM GMT.

To anyone wishing a certain item would show up, keep in mind that there's another sale coming.

triplett: That's a textbook discoverability anti-pattern right there. :-)

Sachys: Yarp! Such is the way of GOG!
I just realized this is a whole lot like a pixel-hunting adventure game. Maybe these sales are really just the outer Inception-like layer priming us for the next layer down: the game itself. ;-)
avatar
triplett: 2. If I sqint I can see a tiny little tab with a yellowish icon in the upper left quadrant of a few games. Hmm, what's that? If I squint really hard (at my 1920x1080 monitor) I can see that it's a little circle with a line in it. If I mouse over it, I can see the words last chance, and realize the icon must be a teensy weensy little clock.
At least you can see something! I'm logged in from my android smartphone during work hours and I can't see shit! At least, before the implementation of this "last chance" indicator, I could see what's going on with the daily offers tab, if barely. Now the thing is pretty messed up. And I thought it couldn't get worse than that! :)

Thankfully, there is a sale tracking thread! ;)

O__________o

Are you sure it was a "last chance" icon and not a microdot?!

gibbeynator: Still waiting for Larry Reloaded to get to a price I can justify paying.
-80% not good enough :) ?

I'm actually wondering if i should buy the Leisure Suit Larry bundle as well, but maybe it'll be -90% in winter sales, so i don't know.

Also, Is King's Bounty Bundle worth it ? I never played KB.

Would say that GOG isn't going to put titles up in December after running them in November. Too much saturation.
Dropping prices a month later would also be sure to make a lot of customers angry, probably to the point of them losing confidence in making November sale purchases.
Based on that, I think the bundle will be stable at this price.

tronsuser: Are Ubisoft leaving GOG?
avatar
Johny.: Nope. "Last chance" means it's last chance for a discount on this sale. :)
Thanks for the clarification (it was just unfortunate that the 2 first games with this indication were Ubi games).

Hmm I don't think it would make "people angry". You should see Steam sales, it can be completely different in 1 or 2 months. That's the surprises of sales i guess.

cal74: I was just going to post the same thing. So it's pointing more towards a "Ubi Soft is leaving" situation than expected.

Should it be true, it's too bad because I'd have gladly bought more Ubi games from their old catalog (Myst IV, Rayman Legend, other Assassin's Creed games...). Let's just wait and see...
avatar
haydenaurion: I seriously doubt this considering they released Archimedean Dynasty, Albion, The Settlers: Rise of an Empire, Shadow Watch and the Anno games on gog just in recent months. It wouldn't make sense.
True but I sometime have difficulties putting "make sense" and "Ubisoft" in the same sentence ;)

triplett: when scanning down the page trying to see what's new, distingishing what I already own from what I might want to purchase and trying to remember what's new today and what's left over from earlier. 8 days into the sale I'm starting to suffer from sale fatigue and am pretty close to the 'why bother" state of effort expended.
Next sale just import your library and wishlist into MaGog and every 12 hours simply filter it by "wishlisted" (or "not owned") + "currently on sale". Takes all of a few seconds to do (once you've learned how to use MaGog...) and it even identifies games that are on sale yet GOG forgot to put on the home page (e.g. Kyn Deluxe Edition).
I understand that "last chance" text could be confusing for you guys (and girls) - we take your suggestions seriously. Konrad included this information in the newspost in this topic. We'll consider taking further steps to make this more clear.

If any of you have any valuable suggestions that could benefit you - users, please write about them.

Still - I'm happy that "last chance" info was introduced in the big fall sale.

It depends on whether you like turn-based tactical battles. If you do, this series is one of the absolute best (especially the first one).

The King's Bounty games are great. But I'm not sure if it would be clever to buy the whole bundle if you haven't played one before. These games are huge (the whole bundle will give you 200-300 hours of KB), but they are all very similar and if you don't like the gameplay it would be a waste of money.

Maybe you should pick up the first game for 60% discount and buy the rest of the games when you played it and decided if you like it.

I am too.

Nice touch, GOG!
