Up to 80% off Spelunky, Super Hexagon, Odallus: The Dark Call, and more!

We've all got a story to tell about a grandpa who, every time we failed in a supposedly important undertaking, would tell us to just man up and Git Gud. The luckiest among us still have our grandma around, so that she can heal our bruised ego with a hot batch of strudels after each Game Over. But for everyone else, getting better is our only option. So hit these smug hardcore games with everything you got, and let's see who'll have the last laugh! After all, going down is just practice for picking yourself back up.

Spelunky's triumphant run may have begun underground but since this sparkling indie gem hit the surface, there was no containing it. Randomly-generated levels, gazillions of treasures, fantastic monsters, and addictive platforming made this an unmissable classic.

Geometry can often be frustrating but Super Hexagon's fast, rhythmic gameplay proves that it can also be used to generate some pure, addictive fun. As long as your reflexes are up to the task, that is.

Granted, the name sounds a bit weird, but there's nothing weird about La-mulana's allure: it's all about the fine-tuned adventure/platforming, the vast levels, and the unforgiving challenges that await players inside this mystical temple.

Sometimes gaming can be hard, but you know what they say, son: no pain, no gain. So press continue and keep practicing until you Git Gud, in the awesome training grounds of Odallus: The Dark Call, TIS-100, or VVVVVV, now that they are up to 80% off! The promo will last until March 18, 10:59 AM GMT.
When JoyMasher wants to release Odallus DLCs on GOG? 66% discount is very good, but the lack of DLCs prevents me from buying it.
€4.49 for Odallus? Oh, go on then.

You mean the three skins at a euro a piece? That's hardly a loss.

Given GOG's publishing policy I doubt JoyMasher is responsible for that. That sounds more like GOG's decision.

Rednecks don't have to be from the South -- they can be from pretty much anywhere, believe me. ;)

True, but they fit in better down south. :P

See, told you that you need to hire somebody who REALLY knows how to appeal to the young people, like me!

That's pretty much it -- rural areas in general tend to celebrate that sort of lifestyle and personality more than urban areas.

That's what makes Copper Harbor so weird. It's teeny tiny rural but everyone has a college education and I'm the only one missing front teeth. :P

That's why I said "in general". I imagine there's a world of difference between attitudes in, say, small-town Vermont and attitudes in small-town Oklahoma. ;)
Also, having a college education doesn't mean one can't still be a redneck (though I admit it makes it much less likely). :)

And now I'm fighting hard to resist making a rude insinuation about what that gap in your teeth might help with. :D

I lost the tooth when I was 12 and the temp finally gave way. I'm getting a bridge in about two weeks.

Dzsono: I have TIS-100 on my wishlist, but I've been concerned about its difficulty. Has anyone played it?

Vestin: I'm tempted to say "Just me". I probably wouldn't be far off ;P...
I beat "the main campaign" without looking anything up (the solutions on the web, I mean. I've read the manual from start to finish before starting the game AND SO SHOULD YOU), but it took me a while, even though I had a decent idea of how things worked from the very start.
Here's my take on the matter: this is the game that separates the nerds from the geeks. If you are one of the few who get excited at the idea of playing it - GET IT. Most reactions I've seen in the release thread were either "I have no idea what this is all about. I'm not getting it" or "I know exactly what this is all about. I'm not getting it". If you happen to be in the Goldilocks group, then consider yourself lucky. Not many people will enjoy this game, I think, but those who will, will enjoy it quite a bit.
Thanks for the nice response. Would the Goldilocks zone, therefore, include anyone who agrees with the phrase "coding is fun!"?

IMHO, it has some decent games (though none I don't own that I am currently interested in), but the title and text seem rather immature. (See my previous post for why the phrase "man up" shouldn't be used.)
Bought the Bombshell Deluxe Upgrade and I have to say the OST is great. :)

Heh, didn't think people would honestly get offended by a stupid meme.

Went ahead and got Odallus: The Dark Call.
