Up to 80% off Spelunky, Super Hexagon, Odallus: The Dark Call, and more!

We've all got a story to tell about a grandpa who, every time we failed in a supposedly important undertaking, would tell us to just man up and <span class="bold">Git Gud</span>. The luckiest among us still have our grandma around, so that she can heal our bruised ego with a hot batch of strudels after each Game Over. But for everyone else, getting better is our only option. So hit these smug hardcore games with everything you got, and let's see who'll have the last laugh! After all, going down is just practice for picking yourself back up.

Spelunky's triumphant run may have begun underground but since this sparkling indie gem hit the surface, there was no containing it. Randomly-generated levels, gazillions of treasures, fantastic monsters, and addictive platforming made this an unmissable classic.

Geometry can often be frustrating but Super Hexagon's fast, rhythmic gameplay proves that it can also be used to generate some pure, addictive fun. As long as your reflexes are up to the task, that is.

Granted, the name sounds a bit weird, but there's nothing weird about La-mulana's allure: it's all about the fine-tuned adventure/platforming, the vast levels, and the unforgiving challenges that await players inside this mystical temple.

Sometimes gaming can be hard, but you know what they say, son: no pain, no gain. So press continue and keep practicing until you <span class="bold">Git Gud</span>, in the awesome training grounds of Odallus: The Dark Call, TIS-100, or VVVVVV, now that they are up to 80% off! The promo will last until March 18, 10:59 AM GMT.

Wait, you mean someone is actually selling you a bridge? Damn it, I knew I shouldn't be delaying my sales pitch for that long...
high rated

Habanerose: Shaddup and Git Gud, DUDE! :P

And don't forget to man up, while your at it.
avatar
dtgreene: Is that *really* necessary? Your post does not deserve to be high rated. In fact, it deserves to be deleted with reputation loss, as it is highly offensive and ignores a request I have made multiple times.
It's up to the community to decide what gets high rated and what not, not yours alone, Dude.

As for deletion and rep loss, again, not up to some hypocrite and always offended SJW like yourself to impose or give orders just because people don't agree with your fucked-up egocentric worlview.

As for being offensive, nope, it isn't. As for your "request", denied, ignored and sent to the trashbin ...Dude. :P

Sarcasm and Irony are really lost on this dude...

avatar
dtgreene: From what I gather, the community is against censorship, yet you want to censor me. Please make up your mind.

There is a difference between asking to not be addressed a certain way (as I have done) and asking that a topic not be discussed (as you are doing).
The community certainly is, but your dedication to pointing out how much you love for everyone who doesn't agree 100% with you to be censored is probably the pinnacle of hypocrisy I've seen so far.

And pretending to be some kind of victim when people disagree with you makes it even more pathetic... grow some balls and learn to tolerate (as in tolerance) the fact that people don't are 100% like you (well, for everyone to be so flawed would be quite sad).

And frankly, telling you to troll and shitpost in, for example, your own dedicated containment thread instead of annoying and derailing other people's threads is not censorship, but asking for common sense and some form of self-restraint. Both of which you apparently lack, dude.

And consider this a final piece of advice, a life lesson if you will:

There are billions of people around, most of them a hundred times better than you can ever hope to achieve.
You ain't special, you ain't unique (heck, given your posts and behavior, you ain't even smarter than some primary schoolers).

So instead of throwing a tantrum and acting like your the most important person in the world (which Hell No you ain't)
learn to adapt, to at least somewhat behave and fucking grow up, dude.
No one likes entitled little manginas who bitch and get offended every time someone even disagrees with them.
It gets old rather quick, and frankly, if you continue down this road, don't be surprised if even your "friends" don't wanna have jackshit to do withcha (assuming you have friends to begin with, that is)

So, hope this is the last time, I'll have to waste my time on someone like you...

Habanerose:
You talk about tolerance while not tolerating their comments.

You talk about throwing tantrums while having one.

You tell someone to behave and grow up while going out of your way to do exactly what they asked you not to (when you're not just insulting them outright), making your statement resemble that of an immature child.

You talk about people being less offended by what others say while being offended by what another person said.

You don't think about what you're saying before you hit send, do you?

Gonna go over this one after another.

1. I actually tolerate their right to comment and have whatever opinion they want, I just don't have to agree with it (in particular said user going out of their way to annoy others and then pretend like they are the victim when asked to screw it... dude over there has quite the trackrecord on this, from what I've seen so far)

2. More like an annoyed rant. but guess you got half-a-point there. Took the bait like a n00b. ;)

3. Nice try, mate. But when people get offended over little jokes or mere words and trow a tantrum, I sometimes feel the urge to give them a taste of their "own medecine". Usually I don't even bother replying, aside of poking fun and making sarcastic comments when bored, but such is life.

4. Not offended, but mildly annoyed sometimes.

5. I do, though not sure how serious this comment was. :P

zeogold: Meh, screw it. It's not worth it to keep derailing the thread.
Should have followed your example.

Dude just ain't worth it :P

Dzsono: Would the Goldilocks zone, therefore, include anyone who agrees with the phrase "coding is fun!"?
I think that encapsulates it quite nicely. Unlike those who would find it boring or tedious out of familiarity or the lack thereof, the "coding is fun" group should have a blast with this one.
It's also a very unusual beast. It's EXTREMELY bare-bones assembly, with a brutally minimalistic instruction set, and you're using it for parallel programming while, more often then not, optimizing for space rather than speed (15 lines per node!). It's all the more satisfying to see a program do what you've forced it to :3.

We should have a thread in TIS subforum with custom specifications and most optimal solutions to them. (Loop, instruction, node count wise)

Technically it works, but it's not very catchy.
If 'clam up' wasn't already being used it would've been great.
Perhaps 'chick up', 'girl up' or 'wench up'?

jamyskis: €4.49 for Odallus? Oh, go on then.
You mean the three skins at a euro a piece? That's hardly a loss.

Given GOG's publishing policy I doubt JoyMasher is responsible for that. That sounds more like GOG's decision.
avatar
Azhdar: Yeah, they're just skin dlcs and they may not be very important for many gamers. But I think such policies sound like this: Games that treat GOG customers as second class citizens
Also, some gamers want to have complete version (all dlcs, soundtrack and etc). So both GOG and publisher should consider it.
Whhhhaaaaat!? I didn't know Odallus had DLCs. I agree that we should have a complete version with the DLCs, too. It seems unfair that GOG doesn't have it. What are the skins? Do they just change the appearance of the characters?

BTW, did any one know that Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Ed. is on sale on GOG?:
https://www.gog.com/game/dying_light_the_following_enhanced_edition

Has anyone played it yet?

Update: After I posted this, the game appeared on the front page \(>o<)ノ

You can see those skin dlcs on steam page of Odallus. GOG version has skin option too, Currently only default skin is available. It will be sad if we don't see those skins on GOG in future. However, I bought Odallus from this promo, because I wanted it badly. If you're a Metroidvania fan and you like 8-bit graphics, don't miss it.

I see the smiley, but I don't think you understand what's actually objectionable about "man up". It's not just "man = awesome, woman = fail", it's the notion that others can judge a person's gender performance, that a person who identifies as male or female or whatever needs to deserve it somehow and can fail to do so.
