CharlesGrey: Is Bombshell worth picking up, at the current price point? Have the devs fixed most of its problems by now, or has it been "abandoned"?
I would and will wait for a better discount. Still to expensive for me ...

gr4phic: Woah, great promo!

Is the GOG version of Cannon Fodder the Floppy or the CD-ROM version?

Here is the CD-Rom version:

In the game it's written that it is the PC CD-ROM version. The manual described the installation from a CD-ROM. However the intro is different from your url. The intro of this Cannon Fodder only lasts 1 minute. So, I cannot tell you if it is the CD-ROM version or the floppy disk (its size is 26MB).

Ah, but would it be too expensive for me? :)

On steam in June the Devs posted about an up and coming 1.3 update unsure if that is the version we have here or still coming, so they hadn't given up at that time. I think I'll go buy this, not too bad in Australian Dollars, price wise.

Bought the game, checked the download page appears to have "Patch 1.2.10466" so version 1.2 looking at that.

Vythonaut: PixelJunk Shooter is a great game! ;)
Does PixelJunk Shooter really require an i3 processor? Or does it also run on systems with older processors?

Once you have the game could you let us know what version is currently available. Magog is reporting that it is 1.2.10466 (gog-6).

Reading this, and the comments that follow, v1.3 has not yet been released but should make a big difference to the game.

Personally, I'm still on the fence about buying the game even at this price.

Was just about to do just that when I noticed your post. In the downloads it shows patch "Patch 1.2.10466" so looks like the 1.3 update isn't out yet or not out to GOG yet. Will take me a while to download as my internet connection isn't the greatest. Perhaps it is one where I should wait for 1.3 when it comes out before doing the 7.3GB download.
Nice, Bombshell is cheaper than in Summer Sale.

May be worth waiting for v1.3 before downloading and playing. It could well be a lot more fun and less frustrating playing 1.3 than the current version. The good thing is that the developers still seem to be actively working on it which is great. It does look like there is a good game in there.

Not really sure and sadly I don't own an older system anymore to check it out for you. PCGamingWiki states "2.1 GHz Dual Core Processor" which is different to GOG's gamepage min. requirements. I guess you'll have to take the risk or wait for someone else's feedback.

Man, I just launched it to test that the download/installation had worked, and it's Beautiful!

The KB+M controls are amazing. I thought I would have to rescue my DS3 controller out of the PS3 box under my bed and play it in the small screen of my MacBook (which recognizes the controller, unlike my PC with Windows), but I'm not going to need it.

Now I'll have to do the effort of not launching it again, or I might play through the whole thing in one sitting and the other games that have been waiting patiently all this time in my backlog might get angry :-D

Hmmm... IIRC the "ship-spinning" maneuver was quite difficult to pull off with K+B. In fact, I was totally unaware of its existence until I reached a level when you definitely need to use it in order to beat it. Then I switched to the gamepad. :P

Vythonaut: "Maybe" doesn't sound like an official statement in my book. Only "Yes" followed by a release date (or at least Soon™) is accepted. :P
Maybe yes. Maybe soon™. :P

I think I'll go ahead and buy a copy as well. The current price looks good, even if the game isn't amazing. Besides, the devs seemed to be pretty nice folks, and I got the impression the game received harsher critiques and ratings than it deserved.
