Up to 80% off the entire Tropico series.

We like the games so much, we're bringing back the Big Fall Sale El Presidente Collection for another round - it's 80% off ALL the games (or the ones you're missing) in a single purchase, or 60% off individually.
What, did you think you can get rid of El Presidente that easily?

The just-released Tropico 5 shines like a beacon of awesome and value - it's the best-of, the cumulative improvement of all that made the series so great so far - and it comes complete with GOG Galaxy achievements and multiplayer support.
That's not to say there's nothing for you in the earlier entries - Tropico 3 & 4 each offer a hilarious atmosphere and plenty of unique scenarios to challenge your swiss bank account!
Or, you can take a trip down memory lane with the classic Tropico Reloaded and Tropico 2 - if you appreciate that something precious about classic video game art, sound design, and controls, you'll fall in love (or back in love) with these absolute classics. Some say the series hasn't been the same since... you be the judge.

Save up to 80% off in the El Presidente Collection, extended until Thursday, November 19, 10:59 AM GMT.

Vythonaut: Nice extension, although personally speaking, not interested. Can't complain though, i've bought 5 nice games during the sale to keep me occupied until the next BIG thing, which is the Homeworld release... or No One Lives Forever release... or Bloodlines release... or <insert your wish here> release.. :P
avatar
jadeite: When will we get the Tropico 5 DLCs?
avatar
Vythonaut: Soon™. :P
i have the old one , old graphics, old playable game, i like that one best, the latest version change the engine completely so the old tropico is the only game i will have.

or/and
touche the adventures of the 5th musketeer (have it on retail disc)

gamersgate has these:

nulljdq: Would love to get Tropico 5, if there was a Linux version.
this
plus DLC packs for 5

equals sold bundle =)
I think that the Anno games will give me my city building fix until the Tropico 5 DLCs get here. Until then I hold myself back. Even now I regret getting The Last Federation and the second DLC being too expensive compared to the entire collection.
Ok I'll pick up Tropico 5 and hopefull we get a nice DLC bundle to round it out some time later.

For some reason I have it listed as "not interested" on steam, but now I can't remember what my reasoning was.

I should probably just mark steam as "not interested" and save myself money and the odd duplication of games. :)

There is a Linux version, it's just not on GOG. I'll keep my wallet closed until it shows up.

fronzelneekburm: Fat chance, Night Dive tried their hands at it and had to give up. IIRC, they were sent a cease & desist by Warners (who own some of the rights) on top of that. Homeworld is owned by Gearbox and they've gone full Steamtard (on top of being ponzi-scheming liars, frauds and ip vultures).
Yeah, I'm aware of all that - it was just wishful thinking! ;)

avatar
dremulator: ha i've still got the original No One Lives Forever on disc
Lucky you! Sadly, I can't remember to whom I rented my copy of NOLF back then (along with a couple other games too). Lesson learned though; don't share your valued games with anyone that you know you may not receive it back!

I was about to buy the first one at some point but even though i enjoy city building games, I really don't like the setting of Tropico too much with all these politics, even if they 're presented with humour etc. After all, I prefer to put more hours into Anno 1404 which happens to be my favourite game of that type, rather than "play" the dictator in a banana republic..! :)

So will GOG finally confirm that we'll get the DLC for Tropico 5 here eventually, or no?
I actually love this kind of game. Most games have you as a basic no-face leader, but I like this because you un-asahmedly play a dictator with all the dictator type nuances.
For example, you have the speech routine, with polite applause, where you tell the people what they want to hear (although it`s a different story that you might do it). You can assassinate malcontents, create your own police State. You can be as nice or as horrible as you want.

Of course, people might rebel or even try to assasinate you! Please the Communists or please the fascists? Or play inbetween? Totally your choice.

In many ways it`s more honest than most of these other games that make you a leader who doesn`t want to rule all. honest, Guv.

My only gripe, perhaps is that the game is a tad on the easy side, once you know what you`re doing, it`s very hard to fail. Dictaterships are never that easy to control.

Thats because real dictatorships are permadeath & permabanned mode. No reroll or save & reload ;)

Yeah, some confirmation and/or information about the DLC plans would go a long way to selling more copies.

We like complete editions, it's the reason a lot of us started shopping here.

There are lots of ways to release DLC here - separately, as a pack, both, etc. The details simply aren't set in stone yet, so we're naturally trying to be conservative with specifics.

That said, I can confirm that the DLC for Tropico 5 will be here. :)

Funnily enough I`m not a `reload` player unless the game crashes. I know reloading is what a lot of people do by default, if things don`t go their way, I`m not one of them. I take whatever the dice rolls, and it`s still too easy.
Also it`s pretty much impossible to die in the game, (it`s never happened to me), you can be voted out or just lose it all, but not die so far. So not sure where you`re getting the `death` thing from.

p.s. I`m talking about the 4th game version of Tropico.

Are they done releasing new DLCs for the game yet? I would much rather buy a complete DLC bundle than separate ones.

Thanks Konrad.

I think a lot of us just wanted some official word that it's coming at all.

I hope Kalypso decides on a nice bundle.

Thank you! As long as we know that the DLC will be here in one form or another, I feel safe buying the game.
