Up to 75% off the Wing Commander series, Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, FTL, and Lifeless Planet!

On days like these, when our earthly problems seem to hold almost zero gravity within the vastness of space, one is more prone to pondering the really important questions. Like: Do astronauts pass the time by playing space-themed games? How do aliens depict humans in their videogames? Did Sandra Bullock say something to anger all that space-debris that was chasing her around? Humanity's frequent space-walks have not managed to answer any of them yet but don't let that stop you from getting one of these (inter)stellar classics, and celebrating Cosmonautics Day in the most appropriate way known to man.

The Wing Commander series has grown into a gaming phenomenon so huge, that it can be visible from orbit. Through a fine-tuned blend of FMV cinematics, intense space combat, and dramatic storytelling, they reshaped the simulation genre and introduced countless players to the allure of spacefaring adventuring.

No one could have predicted the galaxy-wide effect of Nexus: The Jupiter Incident but one talented captain and his legendary spaceship, Stiletto, will decide the outcome of the ensuing conflict. His weapons? Guile, strategic thinking, and formidable leadership skills that would inspire any fleet.

Make some space in your library for those games that weren't afraid to gaze into the stars and open a window to other galaxies. Cosmonautics Day will always remind us of the incredible accomplishments that humanity is capable of, but before we get to further expand our knowledge of the universe, we need to dream it up first.
The promo will last until April 15, 10:59 AM UTC.
Hmm . No Privateer 2 .

I've got only one game on my wishlist from this promo : Wing Commander 5: Prophecy Gold Edition .
Ahh thanks, I've been waiting for FTL to hit that price all year. Now I finally have a Steamless copy to kick around. Righteous.

IAmSinistar: I think a good part of it, at least on the forums, is that a new game gives us something fresh to talk and debate (and sometimes complain) about. It's grist for the chatter mill, even when it's something we don't buy ourselves. :)

JudasIscariot: I would've figured that the 2K games would've given enough fuel for the chattering mill :P
Don't forget that one week in real life feels like one month on internet ;)

ZFR: Be careful with your promo advertising. Space is like basketball. It's the same space in USA and Australia. And it's the same space no matter who is playing. So if you say it's 75% off but in a basketball player comes over to steam, and it's the same space in Australia in the second screenshot of basketball.

... er, what was my point again?
That some space is more equal than some other space.

Not until we get the big ones.

Hah, you've forgotten the old American axiom - "Yeah, that's all great, but what have you done for me today?" ;)

I prefer the Life of Brian version:

"But apart from Paradox, Disney, 2K Games, Games In Development, an optional client, etc. etc. what has GOG ever really done for us?"

:P
To all Linux lovers out there: ./play.it scripts are planned for all the Wing Commander games (including Privateer 1 & 2), the first one should be published tonight.
Is Lifeless Planet just an exploration game? No puzzles or action?

I'm a negative GOGger, I see positive stuff/I reply with negative stuff

1) Wallet stabbin';
2) The "my backlog's murdering my soul little by little" thread;
3) 'nuff said ;(

It has environmental puzzles, mostly jumping based. It's not simply a walking-and-finding game.
Was Lifeless Planet quietly updated to the 'Premier Edition' recently (i.e., within the last several months), or has it been called that for a while?

JudasIscariot:
Baldur's Gate EE is still not appearing in the 'On Sale' tab, or in any search on the Games page where the 'discounted' filter is selected. (I sent you a PM about it last week, but I guess you missed it.) As those games are still gonna be on sale for more than two weeks yet, you might want to fix that. :)
Just for the records: I feel lightly bemused by the genre 'real-time' when the game is a space sim ;-)

It has been a while, but nothing happens quietly on GOG thanks to MaGog. :)
