Up to 80% off Deadly Premonition, Hotline Miami, Jazzpunk, and more!

Video games can be so weird sometimes, you know? Talking animals are standing at every corner, inventories defy space limitations, and gravity has little authority in there. Thus, it takes a special brand of surrealism to astound players, yet some games manage to pull it off in spectacular, mind-boggling fashion. Sure, you can proclaim The Voices Made Me Play It! if you want, but we both know that you thoroughly enjoyed it. And how couldn't you, when these Weekly Staff Pick include some of the most brilliantly offbeat games out there, with intoxicating discounts sprinkled on top.

Are you sure you wish to call Hotline Miami? There is unapologetic brutality, ruthless top-down combat, and satisfying bloodshed waiting for you on the other end. Exactly what you were looking for, you say? Well then, get in there and spread some mayhem. We'll just lock the door from the outside, if that's alright.

Do you also sometimes have a Deadly Premonition that you'll get hacked in half by a raincoat-wearing psycho when you go around asking questions about a beautiful girl's death? Or is detective York just imagining things? There's definitely something odd going on in this cult action/adventure but you must get your brain to squint if you are to piece the mystery together.

Take the blue pill and it will be just another day in the office. Take the red pill and everybody will think of you as a Jazzpunk: secret agent man, champion of bizarre mini-games, and appreciator of psychedelic art - a model employee. As long as you don't skip on that prescription your boss gave you.

Follow our Weekly Staff Pick down the rabbit hole and feel free to admit The Voices Made Me Play It. Some of those enigmatic whispers belong to Psychonauts, Dropsy, Dyad, or Revolver360 Re:Actor and will lead you to extraordinary places. Definitely a lot better than spending a wild night with a giant fish by the sewers, anyway. The promo will last until February 19, 10:59 AM GMT.
Nothing here for me either. Waiting for Underrail, Xenonauts, Sins of a Solar Empire and Fallen Enchantress to go sale myself.
no oldies no business :-)

CharlesGrey: At the current discount, anyone who doesn't already own Deadly Premonition should definitely give it a shot. It starts off kinda mediocre, and the gameplay and controls tend to be clunky, but just stick with it and prepare to have your mind blown as the story progresses. Too bad that D4 isn't included in the promo as well.
Tempted, but is it still unplayable to the point that it corrupts save games etc.?
Very cool name for a good promo. But GOG, you should have included Harvester or Sanitarium or Postal for the oldie lovers ;-)

Mine says "dp.exe has stopped working" and I had no patience to go hunting for fixes.
Both of the Hotline Miami-games are excellent. Simple, yet very fun gameplay, great story, and the soundtrack is amazing. Easily my favourite indie-games.

I'm considering grabbing Psychonauts. Is it good? Does it have controller-support?
Is Deadly Premonition a top horror game?

Well.. it's a horror getting it to work.
Hmm only two games I don't own and one of them and its DLC feature one ugly looking pixel clown. I think I might stay away from that.

It's one of the best platformers ever made, so buy it right now. I don't know if it has controller support, but it doesn't matter, just buy it.

I´d say so, I like the game a great deal, but I´ll tell you this: aiming and driving can be frustrating at times. :)

Oh yeah, the protagonist is a coffee connoisseur, so he instantly is sympathetic, well in my oppinion at least. :D

It supports controllers. Not just the X-Bone thing either (seems to be the case with a lot of newer games that they only recognise that one...). My old Logitech gamepad works perfectly. But mouse/keyboard is very playable too.

Agreed on "one of the best". It's also one of the most creative and craziest games I've ever played.

Hm, it did crash for me occasionally ( like most PC games ), but I don't remember any problems with my save files. If you want to play it safe, you could just manually create copies of your save game files, whenever you've played for a few hours. Usually a good idea for very long and complex games, just in case something goes wrong. ( I remember I even made save back-ups for some of my PS3 games. )

My wired Xbox 360 controller worked just fine with Psychonauts though I had to go into the options/config to get everything setup right. I don't know if this was ever fixed, but you should be aware that the game is a little crash prone at random times. At least it was for me and others I think.

Did deadly premonition ever get the latest patch? According to the wishlist entry I made it did, but I'm not sure...

Edit: According to MarkoH01 it did get the latest patch:

I think Fran Bow would have been great for this particular promo, that game is amazing and weird as hell.
