Launching every Monday, each Weekly Sale will last for seven days. It's a selection of games we know you'll love – but if you don't see anything you fancy right off the bat, don't fret: we'll add another batch of super-good offers every Friday.

Weekly Sale: The First of Many features games with plenty of drama and heartbreak, unexpected tales, and intriguing mysteries. Get right to it with the first round of offers for up to 80% off, including Overlord, Pan-Pan, Shelter, Leisure Suit Larry, and more!

The sale will last until January 9, 5:00 PM UTC.
Worked here too!

I am interested in many Wadjet Eye games but after Christmas sale I can easily resist such temptations.

Impaler26: Yep, it's working now for me too. Looks like they have just added a few Wadjet Eye games to the sale so my wallet is safe... as always. :D
Same here but for the "wrong" reasons.... haven't touched my Technobabylon copy yet.
Damn life, you cruel ;(

Prolence: Personally I don't see this like that, especially as this doesn't seem to be themed anymore. Now they have stuff discounted from soccer to shooter titles, so unless this is an exception I wouldn't count the added games on Fridays to follow any formula that happened on Mondays. I could of course be wrong but the way I see it, is that the special themed sales, as they were, might not be the case anymore and this may actually give more variety to each sale.

As you said, though, we will see how this will work out.

IwubCheeze: I think we could use a break from at least some of the formulas. How often were we getting tired of the same Ubisoft sales for example? Or the DnD sales now that i think of it. I'm also hoping the new format might offer more variation.
This one is interesting:

Like i said i use Steam for casual games , mostly for hidden object games (i have >200 on cd/dvd) and lots digital only.
In a 'defense' for GOG.... i would like to say this:

Did you know that Steams weeklong deals are 75% (if not more) are always the same games?
I was bored cause steam has always same weeklongdeals so i took the time to browse all those pages and i noticed:

Steam shows 4 to 8 times(or more) the exact same game on differnt pages on different positions, which means that sometimes one DLC / game is shown 12 times accros all the week long deal pages, now that is a way to fill up pages and get 300 or more deals :D

Steam has loads of shovelware, 50 cent stuff that is so bad you dont want it even if they gave you store credit , unless it would be 5 euros or 10 euros(or more) for each 50 cent shovelware game.

So what i do is filter all these deals only for casual, adventure and click and point and add a filter hidden object this leaves 1 to 4 pages from the sometimes 15 or more pages.

The only real deals they have are the big ones: fall/winter summer if they have those, then 1000s of products are cheap and that is very interesting.

With steam, for that exact reason, I tend to mainly use my wishlist to see if those are included in a weekly sale.

There are some less known titles at times that are discounted, mainly some Visual/Kinetic Novels or stuff like Enslaved Odyssey to the West etc, but most of the others aren't something I'm really interested in. Also the fact that the same games appears several times within the same weekly sale list, just puts me off from wanting to look it through. Not to mention all the DLC that it may include. At least to me, it's not really user friendly and I most likely miss something I may have liked, just because it's such a mess to browse through.

Just to throw this as my experience with steam's weekly discounts system. So even if GOG has way less titles in general, I do appreaciate them a lot more in that regard, which again, is a completely subjective matter.
It looks like I already own everything that's been added today! :-) The hazards of already owning 600+ games I suppose. :-) #firstworldproblems
This concept of upgrading a running sale seems to be a bit less clear then it used to be but I'll get used to it so no problem here ;)

I agree. I think they should update the image for the sale when games are added and include a little banner with something like "More Games Added" or "New Games Added" so it's a little more clear as the mass will be uniformed with this new approach for a while.

It would only take a min or two...

Oh goody. Bringing the difficulty of finding out what the new deals from the big sales to the weekly sales. Fan-tas-tic

I think it would be less confusing to just put the new "Weekend" games in a 2nd separate promo running concurrently. In other words, keep the "Weekly Promo" (or Weekly Staff picks) at a full week, so those who get paid at the end of a week have money on hand. But bring back the "Weekend Promo" instead of tacking it on.
Oh, I just noticed: the sale is titled “The First of Many” and the first Overlord is the first Overlord game in the series. That means that Overlord II will be released next week, during the “The Second of Many” sale!

Right?! :P

(On a more serious note, I liked the sale format better before—two small sales instead of one big, merged sale.)

My solution is to not look at the weekly sales until Friday. This way I will only need to come to GOG to review sales once a week.

I do like your thinking...

Overlord II confirmed!

Good point. And not even talking of potential purchases, but just about curiosity. Look both before and after the additions and I'll want to know what was added at a glance on the promo page and it's not clear, so just shrug off the before part and take the whole list when it's complete.
Hey, thats cool. Now I only need to check once a week with GOG for new games and promos.
And now, how do I see which games have been added today?

I'm afraid I can't. That's how you get punished for already looking at the sale during the week, I guess. I'll have to keep that in mind for future weekly sales, which makes the need to invest time at the weekend even worse. :(

So I definitely do not like the new sale procedure. For me it would be better when you either would keep both sales separately or do it the other way around, open the new sale on Friday and add more games to it on Monday. ;)
