You got time? We got games.

Of course, some take more time than others but that's where buye--- PLAYER agency comes in. Pick the ones that best fit your schedule - there are so many good options here: the new Master of Orion, the wacky Earthworm Jim, the overlooked masterpiece Giants: Citizen Kabuto, the hilarious Toonstruck, the engrossing Stonekeep, the eccentric Messiah, the RTS classic Total Annihilation, and many many more.

The Weekly Sale ends October 15st, 10 PM UTC.

zlep: It's Kingdom New Lands. Which... *isn't* on sale atm. o_O Maybe they intend to add it in later?

Anyway, just by asking, you've proven that GOG's new website approach of large pictures with little descriptive text works to excite readers' interest in the product! Clearly the old method of allowing potential buyers to easily identify a game is a hackneyed, outmoded approach. :-P

paladin181: It's classic MOO
Huh? I think you may be looking at one of the sale banners. For me, the current news banner (ie. the one for this news item) is a lady in a white dress riding a horse through a lily pond. Definitely not MOO. Definitely Kingdom New Lands.

[EDIT: No more lady, horse or lily pond. The news banner has changed to Earthworm Jim. I suspect the original picture chooser accidentally used a Kingdom New Lands pic (not on sale) when the on-sale game was Kingdom The Far Reaches.]

As for the "sale mini-banner" on the front page - I don't think there is one any more. The games *in* the sale are under "Now on sale", but to look at the sale itself you need to scroll all the way to the bottom, click on the news item, then click on the sale link in the news text. Definitely a downgrade in usability. :-(

I used to be able to go to the front page and see the Weekly deal, Weekend deal, and Daily deal at an instant. Where is that?
Overall I think the front page looks fine but I would make a couple of suggestions:

1. Put the weekly sale as the first big thumbnail in the 'On Sale' section. I like the nice clear 'On Sale' section but it's mad how the weekly sale banner is so hidden away.

2. The 'News' section is too far down the page, especially for new release notifications.

WTF with these prices?
I'm so very offended! This is a sale called "quality time" ... and Harvester is not included???

Aw, the one old ST game I've ever played is not on here. The one where you go into FPS missions from a world map with Picard and Data. Think it was based on Insurrection.

Vythonaut: It seems i'm with the minority here who actually likes the redesign. The "Now on sale" slider is great to see what's on sale in a glance, the "Discover games" has the handy "New" tab that lists all the new games among the other tabs (Popular, Upcoming etc) and on the bottom there are the news. Maybe the news would be better if they moved in the place where the "Curated Collections" is, although i don't find it that much of a hassle to scroll a little further. As for the mobile version of the site, well, that was a bit of hit-and-miss anyway but things got better since the previous update.
I like the "New", "Upcoming", etc tabs too. But they're not part of the new redesign. Here's a tweet of someone praising the feature a year ago. Note the picture of the tabs.

All the new redesign did there was to make the list less compact, and pull the "On Sale" tab up into the side-scrolling slider it now occupies (replaced by "Games For You"). Meanwhile the sale banners have vanished entirely, eliminating easy access to the sale pages, which provide a better "at a glance" view for people like me who own a lot of games (because the owned games are clearly separated on sale pages, but not in the slider).

I don't *hate* the redesign - the new review filters are nice. I can live with scroll-scroll-scrolling more if I have to. I just think they could have implemented the new "mobile OS" look without tossing away easy access to popular features like news and sales.
nice sale

Yeah, i know it's not part of the redesign, i just mentioned it because that's where the functionality of the store lies for me: it all comes to the triptych ["Now on sale" + "New (releases)" + "News (in case i need to access the release thread of a game without going to the general forum)"]. Other than that, the "Curated selections" wasn't needed in my opinion (GOG is supposed to be a curated store, so this seems to be a curation of the curation?), better use the space to show the "News". Anyway, no point of overanalysing every element of the site, give it some time and everyone will be accustomed whether they like it or not. We got used to the grey redesign after all...

Why is this fine piece of art not sold here?
Another weekly Interplay sale. Which one for this year? Second or even third?

I think that it's time to pack all these games into a "legacy" bundle and sell it for 10 (maybe 15) bucks.
I like the price of that shooter game - Hybrid Wars.

One question: Shogo doesn't work on newer Windows version, right?
Because the pages says only XP, Vista ... :(

Works fine for me on Windows 7 (x64).
Anyone hoping that Interplay will finally die and someone picks up the carrion and stops selling games from 1992 with whooping 30% sale? Wow, such deal Interplay!
