Blast demonic hordes, punch a dragon, crack a book.

Violence is not the answer to everything in life but it is the answer to angry pixels coming your way. Especially when they are arranged in a particularly menacing and/or unattractive fashion.
This Weekly Sale has its fair share of such beasts but also situations where a relatively non-violent resolution is possible. Let's take a look:

If painfully ugly but highly detailed monsters are what you crave, then Shadow Warrior 2 delivers in a big way. Served up with Lo Wang's biting snark, tons of awesome weapons, and beautiful, procedural environments, it makes demon-slaying the violent delight it's ought to be.

Not sure how a Book can hold Unwritten Tales but it's probably magic. It's always magic. Wilbur, Ivo, Nate and the loveable Critter have had numerous puzzling encounters with it and they always end up with a hilarious story to tell. Join them, why don't you.

The Weekly Sale ends July 23, 10 PM UTC.

The title is wrong, it should be "Up to 90% off".

At this point, I wouldn't consider We Are The Dwarves as being ever on sale, no matter what its price is at any given moment. xD

Is it seriously on sale again? Is it even 24 hours since the last time? :D

How's The Dwarves?

The Dwarves are ... okay. No more, no less.

The focus is on the story, which is narrated like you are reading a book. German voice-over has the better cast (as this is a German game).

Presentation is okay, but nothing to get exited about.

The story itself is based on a successful book series. It is well written in the first half, and a bit rushed at the end. I can't say how close it is to the books, since I haven't read them.

Gameplay: You get a board-game UI where you move your token around the map. When some event happen or you move to a special field, the narrator explains what is going on and you either get a multiple choice dialog, a short point-and-click sequence where you control the main character from above and have to find and click on certain items on the map to continue. Or you enter a fighting sequence. In this case you need to select up to three characters which you control from above and give orders to move/attack or use abilities.

So it's basically a narrated tale with some intermissions during which you get to do things. There are a few choices that matter, but ultimately the game is pretty linear. I found it interesting, but not enough to play it more than once.

Thanks! I haven't played a game in German for some time, maybe I'll nab this just to check out the voiceover.
