Up to 75% off TotalBiscuit's favorites: Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Pharaoh + Cleopatra and more.

Love him or hate him, TotalBiscuit is a force to be reckoned with. He's the guy that millions of gamers listen to on a daily basis - whether it's first impressions, reviews, or his trademark cynical commentary on industry news, ins and outs - The Cynical Brit's influence on a generation of gamers can be hotly debated, but never denied. Today, we take a look at some of his favorites, his top bites, the 30+ games that TotalBiscuit Recommends:

From the creative minds of Chris Avellone, Tim Cain and Josh Sawyer comes Pillars of Eternity, where adventure continues beyond the gate. It's a critically lauded revival of the classic cRPG in the vein of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, to call it Obsidian Entertainment's spiritual sequel would be an understatement. Of course, that's not the only modern revival of old school favourites - Wasteland 2 is a sequel to the historic 1988 title that redefined RPG gameplay and inspired legendary titles like Fallout - full of multipathed quest solving, choice, consequence and maturity. Brilliant storytelling isn't just an RPG domain - classic point and click adventures like The Longest Journey or its big, action-adventure sister Dreamfall: The Longest Journey are known for featuring some of the most unique universes and best written tales in gaming. The list just goes on with some of absolutely top releases in gaming history including S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, Mount & Blade, Pharaoh + Cleopatra, and so much more!

haydenaurion: It appears he responded. Seems the Steam version still has the issue despite the patch for it. I didn't know as I don't often check Steam forums. Apparently myself and others were mistaken in thinking the gog version was getting abandoned compared to the Steam version.

catpower1980: Well now, things are finally explained so someone could make some kind of sticky in the forum section. I'm linking the tweets into the appropriate thread
Yep, I feel like an asshole now. :P
Uh, about don't starve, you can "play with a friend" with the dlc? It's not multiplayer, right? Multiplayer isn't available in the gog version...

phaolo: ?
I don't understand what you don't understand O_o
I didn't say that GOG only selected the full series, so your reply doesn't make much sense to me..
avatar
Grargar: I just think that your theory is a bit strange. That's all.
Well, that's fine, but then you used completely wrong arguments.
Anyway, I said that, because I "know" TB a bit.
I don't think he would have included the new KBs and Dreamfall or excluded other titles like SW2 and others.

lostwolfe: eg: i'd be curious about a grargar recommendation sale. or an iamsinistar recommendation sale.

0Grapher: Maybe you are but I don't get how that is relevant to GOG at all.

TB is one of the most important youtubers who review PC games and GOG can potentially gain a lot of new customers by him just mentioning "GOG" and "DRM-free" once on his channel.
He mentions Steam all the time, but only rarely mentions GOG, even when the games are available on both sites.
He is also someone who sees Steam as the best option for PC gaming and the Steam-model as the future of all gaming. So why is he a good spokesperson for GOG and DRM-free games ?

lostwolfe: if you guys are hell-bent on using "big celebrities" [something that makes me shrug], then you really should be looking to promote people in the gog community rather than people outside it.

but yeah. not a fan of totalbiscuit. and am not really a fan of you folks "using" his draw power here, again.
I'm not really sure what you mean. You word your statement as if TB is someone that doesn't use GOG or hardly even knows what it is. GOG sponsors his esports team, he has been on the site since 2008, his GOG strategy mix has been around for ages and he is a massive advocate for GOG and everything it stands for.

Not too sure what else you would want from him? Spend all his days on the forums? He doesn't really speak to anyone outside the occasional Twitter reply, so I'm guessing he doesn't have much time to spend on GOG all the time.

I have never heard him advocate Steam in the ways that you describe. In his "reviews" if the game is on GOG he always mentions it and puts it in the description, above Steam (https://youtu.be/XXlBSmP4TpA?t=1255). He often identifies the problem of Steam for PC gaming, such as it having a pseudo-monopoly and the consumer not really owning most of their games. In-fact I don't think I've ever heard him say Steam is the best future for PC in any way shape or form.

cyboff: btw.. I still have one leftover code for STALKER Clear Sky, which will expire soon (on July 21), so feel free to redeem it:
HT692DE4**E21C (replace ** with 3D)
Thank you, cyboff! I don't think I ever beat S.T.A.L.K.E.R. when it first released so I really appreciate your generosity!

catpower1980: Sorry bro, Rami Ismail is too busy on Twitter ( https://twitter.com/tha_rami) than to care about peasants like you! :o)

BTW, tweet done, let's see if one of the two responds positively:

haydenaurion: I will never understand the obsession with social media. I rarely use twitter except to try and ask about getting games here on gog, and if wasn't for my sister living in New Zealand I wouldn't have a facebook account either as that's usually the only way I can get ahold of her.

Much thanks for tweeting that, though I doubt the developer will bother as an old Steam post of mine asking about a patch went unanswered. That was almost over a year ago. :I
Wow, so you need to check on the dev on friggin twitter so he can look on a game breaking bug from more than one year ago...

Meh... :/

BrandeX: Hand picked sale items.

Chance wasted to select games that are never on sale.
Or, you know, those games are never on sale because the right owners never allow it.

Nice selection! I think I'm gonna pick up Risk of Rain and Pharaoh & Cleopatra.

lostwolfe: [i am about to get flamed and/or downvoted to oblivion, i expect. so i will just put on some flame-resist gear and enjoy being in oblivion ;)]

yawn.

totalbiscuit.

...

[but that's just my own personal opinion.]
That's my thinking too, why not use youtubers who play classic games today and not 15-20 years ago, like Clint from Lazy Game Reviews and Matt Barton.

Maybe so, but you need wolfe's permission and the backing of three other council members to be inducted into the exclusive GoG community. I still await my application having completed the ritual of purification during the solstice.

Maybe it looks better if you can fund their competitive CSGO team so the youtuber can claim he isn't getting paid for doing the video's :)

I haven't seen any of his newer stuff, from the last 2 years or so, but his older ones certainly did not advertise for GOG and drm-free games. Look at his videos where he is ranting about used games. and his older podcasts with Jesse and Dodger. He is pro-DRM when it suits his anti-console agenda, but anti-DRM when its more convenient to be so.
