Up to 75% off TotalBiscuit's favorites: Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Pharaoh + Cleopatra and more.

Love him or hate him, TotalBiscuit is a force to be reckoned with. He's the guy that millions of gamers listen to on a daily basis - whether it's first impressions, reviews, or his trademark cynical commentary on industry news, ins and outs - The Cynical Brit's influence on a generation of gamers can be hotly debated, but never denied. Today, we take a look at some of his favorites, his top bites, the 30+ games that TotalBiscuit Recommends:

From the creative minds of Chris Avellone, Tim Cain and Josh Sawyer comes Pillars of Eternity, where adventure continues beyond the gate. It's a critically lauded revival of the classic cRPG in the vein of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, to call it Obsidian Entertainment's spiritual sequel would be an understatement. Of course, that's not the only modern revival of old school favourites - Wasteland 2 is a sequel to the historic 1988 title that redefined RPG gameplay and inspired legendary titles like Fallout - full of multipathed quest solving, choice, consequence and maturity. Brilliant storytelling isn't just an RPG domain - classic point and click adventures like The Longest Journey or its big, action-adventure sister Dreamfall: The Longest Journey are known for featuring some of the most unique universes and best written tales in gaming. The list just goes on with some of absolutely top releases in gaming history including S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, Mount & Blade, Pharaoh + Cleopatra, and so much more!

H3RB3RTW3ST: "ACTUALLY IT'S ABOUT ETHICS IN VIDEO GAMES JOURNALISM"

Biggest fucking joke on the internet.

summitus: Yeah ... and look, you speak the truth and sycophantic fuckers down vote you en mass ... they are pathetic ;)
They are probably sick of the bullshit that you and sadly I am perpetuating which means little to most who just want to buy and play good games.

So lets all shut that Gate and get back to games. I know I have a few (read 100s) still to play.
Soooooooo... I'm not following internet politics and international cyberdramas much, but, will all that flaming happen with any "internet personality" getting within the reach of forumers ? Is it just a totalbiscuit-related thing or do all these people have groups of ravenous haters ready to invest whatever field the e-celebrity strolls through ? Is that how it works in general ?

Cause it could get tedious fast.

Nope, this amount of bullshit is unique to Totalbiscuit. There is only a handful of idiots in this thread, but if you think it's bad here you should see Twitter. Namesearch Totalbiscuit and GOG and find some of the most pathetic people in the universe. Enjoy yourself as you see people turned off of some amazing games because some guy they don't like recommended them and see overuse of the words gross and ewww because these people have the mind of a child in elementary school. Also got to love the people shaming GOG for this and threatening to not spend another cent here until they stop promoting a "toxic individual".
Enough about the Crackers fellow. Does anyone know what happened to Tam McGleish? Have not seen anything new from him in long time...

I think so. There was one person that pissed me off though. she brought up the soundcloud of the Pillars of Eternity controversy which I was expecting that. The thing is it would of been one thing is she highly disagreed with what he said but, some how painted it as a harassment campaign to get some girl to kill herself and that he urged on the harassment in the soundcloud. Then asked GOG to explain themselves based on complete lies. Like I said you can disagree with what he said, hell I think he could worded some things better and some of his arguments specifically being that said joke was part of the universe, however seeing him called Transphobic based on that is bad enough, but she said he made that soundcloud for the purpose of a harassment campaign to get someone to kill themselves. Didn't mention anyone in the soundcloud and he also didn't urge anyone to harass people.

Forgot about PoE controversy over a single, tiny, non important limerick.
SJW-types are just pissed at TotalBiscuit for not toeing the party line.

Don't let them bother you too much.

TB sets some people off. You'd think they'd be glad to have some arousal in their life on the genderless internetz. But nope.

skinandbones13: GOG should get Anita Sarkeesian to choose some games :-)
Funny thing is if GOG invites Anita to recommend games, most people in this thread would behave the exact same way they are now accusing "Totalbiscuit haters" of doing. I personally dislike hypocrisy most of all, but that's just me.

And oh! Pillars of Eternity is close to what looks an actual sale for a first. I wonder if DOS and POE will ever hit the 50% mark, just like Wasteland 2 had?

I don't know this guy but I have to say, I like his voice. Anyway, there are sure some interesting games in this promo.

TotalBiscuit: I've been promoting GOG since 2008, I've maintained the most popular GoGmix on the site since then and I work directly with them on a professional basis producing content for them as well as regularly streaming on their channel, with the largest audience.

awalterj: Are you referring to this list here?
--> https://www.gog.com/mix/totalbiscuits_definitive_list_of_strategy_games
(the only one I could find)

You did include Sacrifice which means that you appear to understand the local culture around here (local culture = not disrespecting Licurg's loving affections for Sacrifice)

Here are some core essentials that I couldn't find on your list but are great games and not to be missed:

- & [url=http://www.gog.com/game/imperialism_2_the_age_of_exploration]Imperialism 2
-Sid Meier's Colonization
-Jagged Alliance 2
-Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines
-King of Dragon Pass
I noticed you missed these great strategy games:

- Eador: Genesis
- Call to Power 2
- Galactic Civiliations 1: Ultimate Edition
- The Settlers 2: Gold Edition
- The Settlers 3: Ultimate Collection
- The Settlers 4: Gold Edition
- Battle Worlds: Kronos

That's a completely baseless accusation without any evidence to support it.

"If the Islamic State would recommend video games on GOG.com, Anita Sarkeesian would love that and become the wife of an Jihadist. She's such a hypocrite." See? I too can pull out accusations out of my ass. Proof? Overrated.
How are the King's Bounty games? Are they similar to the Heroes of Might and Magic series in gameplay?

Yes end no. The basics of travelling on the map, the battles and magic are all very much like HoMM. But there is no town building, and you only have onr hero. Outside of battles it's more like lite RPG than strategy.
