Chacranajxy: It's not exactly like GOG's biz dev team is flying blind here. What have people, historically, liked from EA? C&C? Sure. Mirror's Edge? Yeah, there's a dedicated fanbase. Dead Space? Well, people liked the first 2.

I don't think that people not telling GOG specifically what they want is going to prevent GOG from being able to make a case to bring game X to the platform. That's kind of... y'know... their job. And it's not like the wishlist has been a particularly useful tool for demanding games on GOG, either, outside of a couple exceptions.
But that would just mean the more generic wish that tfishell linked to is all the more useless. If GOG "knows" which big games to go after (which I would argue is in large part because of the Wishlist), then they most most definitely already know which major publishers to go after.

And I don't have any corroborating links or anything, but I think GOG's stated several times that Community Wishlist entries have actually helped them bring games here on several occasions, as well as letting them know what they should go after (or re-evaluate, in the case of games they'd either previously rejected, or declined to go after).

Matruchus: All ready have all the games I wan't from EA on gog. Still waiting for C&C collection, Dead Space series + Armies of Exigo.

Obviously Dune 2, Dune 2000 and Emperor: Battle for Dune too :)
avatar
Niggles: I still have my shiny disc copy of Emperor Battle for Dune. Does it work for you under Windows 7 x64 ?
I still have the four discs but haven't tried them yet on my copy off Win 8.1 x64.
Nice sale. It made me realize that I own almost the entire EA catalogue here, except for seven games.
Unfortunately, the titles I'm not interested in also happen to be the most expensive ones, so I won't go for a completion, as tempting as it may be.

timppu: I'd think EA will allow some game to come to GOG only if they need GOG's expertise in getting some game to run on modern PCs. Otherwise they just release it on EA Origin straight away, like the C&C games.
avatar
tfishell: Thing is, they haven't released any more old games on their Origin service either (I pop in occasionally there); essentially all the old games added are GOG'd ones.
How about e.g. the C&C series? They even gave Red Alert 2 out for free for Origin users.

Ubisoft indeed released some more games on GOG (e.g. more Anno games), but when I looked at Ubisoft's GOG game list (order by date added), they seem to have released only "few" games in the last few years (ok, a dozen or so, but I was surprised how soon I saw games on that list that I thought have been on GOG as far as I can remember). Also I read elsewhere they have recently added e.g. the first Assassin's Creed game to UPlay.

C&C bundle had been on Origin since before EA came to GOG, I believe.

Yeah, it's been that way with big publishers in general. Perhaps it's time to give up on them? It will mean supporting the Steam monopoly - which I really don't want to do - but it's better than pirating I suppose. Like I told Judas in another thread, I'll be wantin' to finally pick up Tomb Raider Legend and Anniversary eventually, preferably on GOG but if that ain't happening I'll have to get 'em from Steam. How many Steam games do you own, Tim?

HunchBluntley: I think the far more helpful (for GOG) path would be for everyone to vote for any individual games they really want and would buy here.
I agree but I wasn't going take the time to search out and add in every single EA game on the wishlist. :P I will edit my post to encourage voting, though.

This. Not having C&C here makes my soul die.

We need more EA games. ;-)

Yeah, some of us have already asked via multiple methods and I don't want to spam them either. EA is already well aware we want more of their old catalog here, the ball is in their court.

Own everything..........
From the days when EA didn't suck and Molyneux actually made decent games.
EA earns nothing more than my middle finger so long as they refuse to release anything new here.
Does EA no longer have the rights to Cybermage: Darklight Awakening?

That's an old game that really should be here.

timppu: Also I read elsewhere they have recently added e.g. the first Assassin's Creed game to UPlay.
They just moved third party retailers to use uPlay for it as many of those stores don't want to host direct downloads anymore, and the previous non-uPlay versions (with a couple exceptions) had Tages DRM. The uPlay version is DRM-Free.

^ This!

Also, I wish The Immortal was one of the games for sale (it hasn't made it to the site yet). The Immortal was also published by EA back in the before time, when EA was a peaceful land free of douchbagery.

We can keep throwing more balls in their court, maybe they'll finally notice :)
