op2016: Aaaaah, NOX!, Yesssss! Thank you GOG and EA :)
As written above in the news: the discount for a single game is 60 percent. That would be great, but I don't think we will see any new (old) game from EA here on GOG in the foreseeable future.

blotunga: Why not? I know that the last release was Jade Empire or so, but still there is always hope.
I'd think EA will allow some game to come to GOG only if they need GOG's expertise in getting some game to run on modern PCs. Otherwise they just release it on EA Origin straight away, like the C&C games.

Same probably goes to Ubisoft, they also seem to have picked up the idea of releasing their older games primarily on their own service.

Oh well, can't win them all. Maybe GoG saw the writing on the wall and that is why they expanded their library from mere old games to newer/indie games.

GOG just added several Ubisoft classics just a little while ago. Origin is bit different... around the time they added SimCity 4 here they added most GOG games to the Origin client with Origin Stub DRM on DosBox (which SteamWorks DRM doesn't have native support for), with several periodically given away as a carrot for the platform. uPlay doesn't have old classics on their platform, in fact they are continuously dumping uPlay PC support for titles with retailers left with DRM-Free or Tages direct hosting (Advanced Recon 1/2 et al.).

On Origin not only can EA eliminate the usual 30% retailer overhead, they can more tightly control sales by not having to compete with Steam since unlike uplay as they use Origin as an exclusive, rather than inclusive client (and Origin sales on their first party titles have sucked for a long, long time - not even mentioning the Bioware DLC).

The only problem with ubi and EA is that they are so fond of DRM, they have very good games but they are way too 'addicted' to DRM.
Maybe they are afraid that without that DRM they will loose control on their games.
Tages is bad, nobody wants tages on his /her pc.

Licurg: Tell EA we need the C&C games and Dead Space 1&2 here .
avatar
Niggles: Personally would prefer the first few C& C games, Dune & Crysis 1 & 2 :D
I'd like those as well to replace my discs. Since I have all the games in the sale just a little disappointing, or is that a good thing, more money for concert tickets.
All ready have all the games I wan't from EA on gog. Still waiting for C&C collection, Dead Space series + Armies of Exigo.

Obviously Dune 2, Dune 2000 and Emperor: Battle for Dune too :)

The control is already lost (all of their games can be found freely on torrent sites).
So you can't lose something that is already lost.
dam the 85% off for the full package is tempting. On the other hand it´s EA.

Nothing for me. Already have Jade Empire, Nox and Undying. And I recommend them. :)
Nothing for me this week. Didn't buy anything last month either. Not one single purchase this year so far.

Maybe I'll actually be completing my backlog this year :)

Anthony Quinn is dead so don't wait for him.
EA if you bring Dragon Age here (and maybe need for speed most wanted 2005, the old one) I can buy something.
if not I own all I want.

Vythonaut: Looking at the first three posts, someone would assume that those Greeks have nothing better to do other than browse the net... :P

You know, technically... the first four posts were written by someone from Greece. ;)

I'm always tempted to buy Sim City 2000 whenever it pops up on sale. Spent a lot of time with that one...

However, some of the reviews here are less than stellar since the version offered is the DOS port. I guess I'm just curious, what are the real differences between the DOS and WIN95 versions?

Woot? Who's the fella?

Edit: And based on the "jem-cutters", I'd say it's most likely you, Typo Generator ;)
