The cornerstones of every strategist's collection: up to 80% off the Eador series, Stronghold Crusader HD, Battle Realms, and more!

What do all great strategic thinkers have in common? Well, they are able to see the big picture and make the necessary sacrifices, even under stress. They always plan one step ahead of their opponent. They have a perfectly detailed imprint of their chin at the back of their right hand. But more importantly, they always seek fresh challenges. Like the ones that await you around this <span class="bold">Strategy Corner</span>, with an inspiring discount strategically placed on top of them. Your move, general.

RTS and city-building gameplay elements collide in the blood-soaked Arabian lands. Build your own castle, amass great armies and lay siege upon heavily fortified settlements as the Stronghold Crusader HD.

An epic game of thrones in the fantasy-coated realms of the orient? Yes, please! Battle Realms and its expansion Winter of the Wolf see the clans of the Dragon, the Wolf, the Serpent, and the Lotus go at each other's throats with their trained fighters, ninjas, and spellcasters.

Slip through the cracks of a procedurally-generated galaxy ruled by our mechanical overlords and wage a desperate AI War against their oppressive rule. The odds are against you but humanity needs your real-time combat skills and your strategic planning in order to fight back.

Turn that <span class="bold">Strategy Corner</span> and gain a vantage point over these diverse and unforgiving battlefields. Put your plans to the test and conquer the challenges inside King of Dragon Pass, The Last Federation, Pacific General, Frozen Synapse, and many more! The promo will last until March 15, 4:59 AM GMT.

timppu: does it allow me to first buy Frozen Synapse, and then Red? Or if I try to buy Red afterwards, will it complain again that Red is already included in my existing FS, and lets me buy it only as a gift code?
I just tried it for you ;)
It complains that Red is already included in a game you own, but will let you buy it without forcing you to turn it into a gift code.

musteriuz: I'm also struggling to figure out whether Red is standalone or expansion.
It's not standalone. It requires the base game.

op2017: Are the Blitzkrieg games very hard for a begginers or not so good strategy players?
avatar
Cyraxpt: Yes, a bit, this is one of those where it's easy to get units killed (but also kill enemies) so if you do a mistake like sending your army without scouting first you might bump into a defended position and get your units killed (and this is one of those where you can't build a base and get more units). On the other hand, when the artillary units were available the game was too easy, i would get my scout to advance and locate targets so that the artillary could finish them... yeah, the game got repetitive.

Haven't played the 2nd one though.
Thanks. I'm still gonna try it, as at this price its almost like a free game and there isn't anything else for me this time. Like I said I'd much rather see Commandos here, as I had great fun with that one back in the day, but this will have to satisfy my WW2 need for now.
Maybe one day we get such old RTS games here on GOG.com like Dark Colony (+ Council Wars) or Dark Planet: Battle for Natrolis. :)

vv221: Please GOG, now that you’re working a lot on putting HTTPS as the default protocol everywhere on your web services, you really should take the time to proof-read your announcements as to not let HTTP links like this slip through your vigilance ;)
avatar
JudasIscariot: Fixed :)
The promo's link on the front page, as well as the link to the homemade "Top 10" du jour, are also still HTTP. ;)

Got myself some Darwinia and Pacific General, have most of the others.
These two looked very interesting, the PG games always remind of the Risk board-game, which was my favourite board-game as a kid.
Not much this time for me. But wonder if we get bigger Spring sale next week(s) :)

phaolo: How.. did you manage to "ninja'd" a release? O_o

JMich: Like this.
Pls no, Labeouf is scary =:O
How is that Eador: Genesis game?
Nice weekend promo! There are several good games here but if I were to pick only one or two, these would be King of Dragon Pass & Eador: Genesis. If you want to spend some more money, you can't go wrong with Blitzkrieg or S2. :)

IronArcturus: How is that Eador: Genesis game?
If you enjoyed any of the classic strategy games such as Heroes, Disciples, Age of Wonders etc just buy this game. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and at that price it's a steal. ;)

Do I remember correctly that the game does not have save and load options, only autosave on every turn, so any mistake you make is final?

Yes. That is correct. You will die alot. And no manual save options.

However I don't know, how the "upgraded" 3D version of Eador: Masters of the broken ... is. If there are any save options etc.

Correct, it's like playing Ironman mode. And the game being hard makes it even better.
