The cornerstones of every strategist's collection: up to 80% off the Eador series, Stronghold Crusader HD, Battle Realms, and more!

What do all great strategic thinkers have in common? Well, they are able to see the big picture and make the necessary sacrifices, even under stress. They always plan one step ahead of their opponent. They have a perfectly detailed imprint of their chin at the back of their right hand. But more importantly, they always seek fresh challenges. Like the ones that await you around this Strategy Corner, with an inspiring discount strategically placed on top of them. Your move, general.

RTS and city-building gameplay elements collide in the blood-soaked Arabian lands. Build your own castle, amass great armies and lay siege upon heavily fortified settlements as the Stronghold Crusader HD.

An epic game of thrones in the fantasy-coated realms of the orient? Yes, please! Battle Realms and its expansion Winter of the Wolf see the clans of the Dragon, the Wolf, the Serpent, and the Lotus go at each other's throats with their trained fighters, ninjas, and spellcasters.

Slip through the cracks of a procedurally-generated galaxy ruled by our mechanical overlords and wage a desperate AI War against their oppressive rule. The odds are against you but humanity needs your real-time combat skills and your strategic planning in order to fight back.

Turn that Strategy Corner and gain a vantage point over these diverse and unforgiving battlefields. Put your plans to the test and conquer the challenges inside King of Dragon Pass, The Last Federation, Pacific General, Frozen Synapse, and many more! The promo will last until March 15, 4:59 AM GMT.

Redfoxe: Is it just me or havent most of these games been on sale not too long ago, atleast Stronghold?.
Stronghold has last been on sale on November 14, 2015.
Dear GOG,

The first two Warlords: Battlecry games are the only titles left on my wishlist, and this strategy-themed weekend promo would've been a perfect opportunity to put them on sale. Alas, they're still there on my wishlist pestering me at full price, mocking me like Edgar Allan Poe's raven.

Maybe next week, then. Maybe.

I feel your pain. They are on my wishlist, too. But, I bought some good strategy games from this promo, so I can endure a little more.

omega64: Aw, Strategy. :'(
yeah, not my cup of tea either.

another weekend promo with no wish-listed game for me (though I still got 4 games from the last one, so they are doing their job fine I suppose ;p). this would be the perfect promo to add Commandos, but alas.

would probably try BLITZKRIEG, as I'm kinda in a World War mood atm :-)
I'm very pleased that S2: Silent Storm GE is on sale. I've waited to buy this for a while after it was in the winter sale. Thank you GOG!
Got so excited when I saw the headline had the word Strategy in it. Thought to myself finally a good weekend promo (my opinion of course) after many weeks.
Bah, turns out its either games I already have, don't want/wouldn't play or were given away for free elsewhere on the net.

My strategy fix will have to hold out for another day.

P.S. Eador Genesis is a fantastic strategy game for anyone unsure about it due to graphics or age or whatever. Highly recommended!

NuffCatnip: Couldn´t find a good gameplay video of the Etherlords games.
Both are strategy games with cards, is that correct ?

Edit: Pretty stupid of me, I just read the description on the gog page. :`)

Will buy them, they sound like a ton of fun. :D
They are AWESOME, i greatly recommend you try them if u like the idea of visualized card games :D
How is Stronghold compared to Stronghold Crusader? Is it a bit easier? Because I'm constantly get my ass kicked in ShC.
A typical "up to" promo: As usual GOG cannot calculate (at least for me Shattered Haven is 85% off) and the games I'm interested in are at the lowest discount. :P

But still a nice promo. :)

Playing the campaign of the first game right now. it really IS awesome. :D
I´m a sucker for card games, I already know I´ll enjoy these games a great deal! :)
Please GOG, now that you’re working a lot on putting HTTPS as the default protocol everywhere on your web services, you really should take the time to proof-read your announcements as to not let HTTP links like this slip through your vigilance ;)

Oh don't worry, you're bound to get your ass kicked (although I can't say anything about Crusader).
RTS games are a genre I am fairly terrible at (and they are quite stressful for me, I constantly panic and think the fuckers are coming any minute now and no way am I prepared for that), but I am certain that experienced RTS players won't say the game is not hard either. I didn't get past the I think it was 3. or 4. mission where you have really terribly little time before the enemy comes and there is no way I could train in that time as many archers as I needed. Bloody Stronghold!!! :)

I wouldn't call it easier, but it does have a more natural learning curve. Unlike Crusader, where everything was about the multiplayer matches/AI skirmishes, the core of the original Stronghold is the story campaign, which is somewhat similar to how the older Command & Conquer played out.
One major difference in gameplay is the fact that, due to the setting, there is no real shortage of space where you can place your farms, which is a very limited resource in Crusader. Additionally, it lacks the mercenary units you could buy in the latter game, meaning that building up your armies and defenses takes somewhat longer and the game's pace isn't as fast as a result.

First thing you need to know is that they are rather different. Stronghold Crusader’s campaign is actually a compilation of skirmishes while Stronghold has a typical RTS campaign with various mission objectives. In most cases you start with a nicely build castle and your task is to develop your defenses and defeat enemy’s armies that come from an edge of a map. In others you have some starting army, can’t produce anything more and have to conquer an enemy’s castle. I’m almost sure that there is not a single mission where both you and your enemies have to build up a base from scratches and destroy each other that you can find in Stronghold Crusader. So yeah, they are different and in my opinion Stronghold is much easier because you have to focus on one task only (defense or attack). Furthermore AI usually attack from one side only and that makes it pretty easy to defend yourself.
