Two strategy/RPG powerhouses in one mega-promo: up to 80% off almost every Stardock and Paradox game!

Usually, when you're told that you're going to be sharing some space with a person you've never met, the first things you wonder are whether you two will be compatible and if they own a handheld console. But every once in awhile, the match ends up being so perfect that you feel like it should had happened long ago. When Stardock meets Paradox, this is exactly the vibe you'll get as you're browsing through their combined list of games and look at the sweet discounts we put on them.

Coming hot from the Kickstarter oven, Pillars of Eternity delivered this "modern classic" vibe that fans of the isometric RPGs of yore were craving. And it did it with the gusto and confidence we have come to expect from Obsidian.

The enormous scale and sandbox qualities of the <Galactic Civilizations games are what set them apart, but it's Stardock's commitment to constantly improving and expanding their potential that has grabbed the attention of all known species in the galaxy.

When Stardock meets Paradox you know you're in for a real treat. It's a great list of quality strategy/RPGs that should be on everyone's collection, like Sins of a Solar Empire, Hearts of Iron II, Majesty Gold, Sorcerer King, and many more, going for up to 80% off. The promo will last until April 19, 3:59 AM UTC.

Painted_Doll: Hmm . Fallen Enchantress ?

I still remember how Stardock screw us with Elemental: War of Magic .
Haha, I still have that limited edition box on the shelf. Serves as a reminder not to preorder junk anymore.
Still haven't tried Fallen Enchantress.

Splatsch: But I read somewhere something concerning a patch who makes the game able to use 4Gb of ram instead of 2. Is it needed ? Is the game still using only 2Gb ram in it's last version if it's true ?
It's likely to be this issue (and solution) :

No problem ;)
Thank you very much again, your help was really precious and appreciated !

immi101: the website is fine. It's one the biggest CiM1 communities ever since the game was released :)
....
the other important source for mods is this german site:

Nice ! Good thing that there are still websites with mods. Thank you very much :D
Do you know if the things on this page are safe ?

I heard about it concerning some games... But I don't know if it applies to CiM (and would be really needed) :P
I heard too that there is an easy workaround : here. Is this right ?
Thanks for your help by the way ;)

Nothing on sale for me to buy, except Fallen. I'll wait to buy it. Instead I bought Shovel Knight. I have been waiting for it to be on sale. \( ゚▽゚)/

ShadowWulfe: Too bad about Sorcerer King and Fallen Enchantress being basically random map battles.

I'll second the Pillars of Eternity issue still not being fixed.
Sourcer King, Fallen Enchantress and Pillars of Eternity are on my wishlist. Now I'm not sure if I'll get them. What's wrong with Pillars of Eternity? 〈(゜。゜)

BrokenBull: Sourcer King
Can't find this game on sale. :P

jcosmocohen: Is the Fallen Enchantress: Ultimate Edition worth the $3 more to get the DLC?
Well it includes Fallen Enchantress AND Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes and all the dlc for Legendary Heroes so yes absolutely worth it if you don't own any of the series.

Huge amount of content to keep you going too. If you're a TBS fan you should be sweet.

shadow1980jpv: Nice promo GOG! I wish to see Europa Universalis IV promo in GOG, soon or later!
I believe it uses Steamworks which means we are unlikely to get it here. It's a shame though, since no one makes Grand strategy titles like Paradox.

It should concern most 32-bit software. This workaround is indeed easy, assuming some conditions are met. All the relevant details are in that wiki page.

There is no upgrade option for the game's more expensive versions (unlike Steam), which means that if you bought the Hero Edition which was discounted by 60% in the recent insomnia sale and you would like the extras of the more expensive versions, your only option is to buy the more expensive versions, in effect buying the game twice.

Horrible. щ(゜ロ゜щ) I won't buy it now. I'll wait until the Champion and Royal editions are cheaper. I can't run this game until I buy a new computer.
Thanks Terminator Kitty...ha, ha. Nice avatar. ヽ(;^o^ヽ)
Is there any of the grand strategy games from Paradox which has a tutorial? I've tried Victoria and Crusader Kings, but both games completely let you alone and seem to require you to read the manual before you can do anything useful.

For The Glory at least has one.
I'm thinking about buying a few but I'm not sure... maybe a backup of Majesty games? Maybe Cities in Motion? Maybe something else? Fortunately I have some time to think :)
