tburger: I was thinking about first one....why?

OPstrator: Just asking. How complicated are these games? Because the second doesn't seem like a classic RTS.

So, for a more or less casual player, what do you suggest? Is it worth to buy or is this a bad idea?
Ah...Cant help you with that. Never had and never played any of those games...(soon the first statement will be false ;-P)
Has anyone tried those Capitalism games? Are they similar to SimCity?

It would be a tough choice for the GOGstaff, like *roll the dice* "who do we pick, man?"
GOGmember#1: "user x"
(All of the others): "HIM/HER/APACHE HELICOPTER? NO WAY!!!!" ;P

Played C2 a long time ago (back in the 90's and when it came on GOG) and it ain't SimCity. The "map" is just for illustration as the core game is more about business data and how you sort out and manage this stuff to become the richest. It's just for the pure "joy" of doing business rather than seeing your city grow/evolve (or making a complex transport system like in TT). It's a kind of acquired taste ;)

Thanks for the info!
Nice games but I already have what I want. The listing feels rather short for a Weekend Promo. Well I got Imperium Galactica this week, and Little Acre was fantastic as well, what a pearl of a game. So I'm happy with GOG's offerings this week.

I've played in both OPstrator, and I would tell that they're rather not for completely "casual" gamer/beginner (IMO a bit too hard and a bit complicated), but if you've already played in some RTS games (the best option is when at least one of them had slightly more complicated economy than gathering 1 or 2 types of resources), it's a good choice, since it has quite interesting gameplay style. It's really worth to go through tutorials in this game first. Yes, tutorials, it's divided on a couple of lessons. Seven Kingdoms 2 has playable Fryhtan races (in first one you can only play as human races), but other than that (and of course graphics/music/interface/etc) they're quite similar.

Hello MartiusR, thank you for you kindly and detailed description. It does indeed sound interesting.
Is it true that espionage and diplomacy is part of 7 Kingdoms 2 HD? I'm kind of interested in that, not really if combat is the main part of the gameplay.
Does anyone know what game the picture for the weekend promo is from? It's definitely not the planes game and looks like a WW2 strategy game.

Gylfe: It's definitely not the planes game
Or maybe it is.
