70% off Jagged Alliance 2, Sacred: Gold, Leisure Suit Larry, Race Driver: GRID and more.

To be considered a legit player by all the cool kids, one first needs to work on their street cred. Maybe sport a backwards baseball cap "borrowed" from the grisly, retired pitcher next door. But why risk having your pants munched by Mr. V's trusty pitbull when you can Play the Field from the comfort of your own home? All you need is a sweet ride, some strategic thinking, and a love expert (with plenty of erotic misadventures under his cheap-looking belt) at your side. Coincidentally, that's exactly what you will find inside our Weekend Promo: Play the Field.

You don't want to come off too strong, so spend some time laying out your strategy first. Refine your tactics with Disciples 2: Gold or go for an exercise in patience and deliberate movement as you slowly form your Jagged Alliance 2. Then you can observe the target from your Off-World Resource Base, making sure you don't become Cannon Fodder when the real action starts. And once it does, don't be cruising in your Pinto, pick out a new ride in Race Driver: GRID or Flatout 2, with the regrettably experienced love-guru Leisure Suit Larry as your co-driver. Next, you should get your ink done in Port Royale 2, and finally reap the rewards of this undoubtedly challenging endeavor. It'll almost feel like winning a round of Combat Chess.

Show everyone that you've got game(s) and Play the Field with our Weekend Promo of 30 titles going for 70% off, including Sacred Gold, Sensible World of Soccer 96/97, 1nsane, Patrician 3 and more. The promo will last until January 11, 4:59 AM GMT.

JLH: I wish codemasters would bring the dirt games over here but a member mentioned licensing issues with the cars? how are the games available on steam? did they have a longer contract than what gog had for colin mccrae 2005? there is a European release for dirt 1 that is drm free that I have. but I'd really like to try dirt 2 and 3. :)
avatar
Grargar: Dirt 1 and 2 were removed from Steam because of licensing issues, so it's very unlikely that they will ever return. For the time being, Codemasters is still selling Dirt 3, Dirt: Showdown and the recently-released Dirt: Rally, but nobody (except Codemasters themselves) knows for how long they will do so.
thanks for the info!

Splatsch: Oh yes, the Flatout games :D
Hum, I need opinions about Race Driver Grid. I'm in lack of racing game, and will definitely buy Flatout 1, eventually the second too... but should I buy Race Driver Grid ? Or Flatout 2 ? Or both of them ? None of them since I'll have Flatout 1 and so should keep my money for another game for now ?
5 hours late but I've been playing it a lot lately.

Normally I abhor using a controller/pad period but you really do need it for this game because being able to control how much you push down the throttle is crucial.

It can be fantastically cruel at first but it never gets boring.
Seems like a sale mainly for GOG newbies who are interested in these games and waiting for discounts. (ie, I'd imagine most of the forumites own them already.)

I only own Overlord, I don't really care about most of them.

I have too many unplayed games to justify buying any more right now. :-P I just wish we could see more AAA semi-new (5-10 years) games released here (at a discount if they've been previously discounted on Steam).

No stop, I buy too many games as is. :P

Random_Coffee: Is the first Disciples worth getting? I already own the second one, and I think it's an excellent game.
For me Disciples I is draft for Disciples II with think is the best of all series, personally I bought D1 for collection purse (poor graphic, less units, few race and campaigning ).
C'mon GOG! ...make it happen! Vote for the games people!

I have too many unfinished games here on GOG as-is; that said I've had my eye on Flatout 2 for a while. I've played Race Driver: GRID, but only on the DS - I would love to purchase the PC version.

The only problem is that university courses start on Monday - between five classes, work and studying I won't have time for games (; _ ;). Maybe I could purchase one or both of the above and install them on on my travel hybrid so that I could race a track or two between classes. Emphasis on maybe.

Ah yes flatout 1 and 2 played both, but still never bought it.Now i can't play it since the graphic card i needed for it died on me and got a little weaker one 9200 se ati radeon from a friend instead of the 9600 xt ati radeon that died on me(still served me 6 to 7 years) can't even play stalker call of pripyat my most favorite game because of that anymore. And getting an agp ati radeon 9600 pro isn't easy since it doesn't show up much on sales on a certain sites i visit.
Will there be any more discount sales of flatout 1 and 2 in the future?
Does it get discounted often?
Actually i am waiting for a game here i can at least play neverwinter nights diamond.
Also i warmly recommend flatout 2 to anyone, flatout 1 is very hard though i still beat it.
And also the reason why i won a ps3 contest in moto storm racing game because the game has similar controls and the game i won there was halo 2 for vista which i never got vista lol.

Wish we could get some new Codemasters racing games. GRID is fantastic, but it's been on here for like 2 1/2 years. Where's Dirt 2 and 3? Or any of their F1 stuff?

triock: Hmm, I would say that gameplay is pretty much the same, but Flatout 2 is IMHO better in every aspect. It's almost a perfect game. It may seems more arcade-ish - car manoeuvering is more predictable, but it was just much more fun to play it (at least for me). Also, game is perfectly playable with KB, no need to use controller (it's def not "anti natural" :p) Same for GRID 1.
Okay :) Sounds good ! I usually prefer to play with a controller ;) But it's nice to now it's not indispensable !

Ahah, no problem, it's never too late :D
Okay, I take note buuuut... About which one are you talking about specifically ? :P
But for what I played, Flatout 1 is a lot in this situation depending on the car you choose, and it is one of the reason why it is interesting to play :)

Now, since people is talking about the games they would like to see here from Codemasters : please GOG, bring us Colin Mc Rae 2 !!

And Rally Trophy from Bugbear :P

vicklemos: GRID and Flatout are different experiencies. But they're among the best "oldies" on the pc, imho.
Actually, you should try these with butt in couch, controller, big screen and superb sound setup. Otherwise it would be just, uh, anti natural :P
The way I play most of my racing-games are in couch, big screen, decent TV-speakers, a cup of coffee.. and "The Duke" :D
For those of you, who buy GRID: I recommend, that you donwload and install the yellow filter mod, that removes these ugly yellow/brownish colors.

Download link:

OOPS! XD
I was talking about GRID. I have both Flatouts too and they are fantastic; both great stress relievers without the physics or pressure of GRID. In Flatout you are encouraged to crash. :P
