Up to 80% off Rise of the Triad (2013), F.E.A.R. Platinum, Mortal Kombat, Unreal Tournament, and more!

Shooters, slashers, guts and gory! Crazy insane or insane crazy, when we say promo, you say frenzy - it's a true seasonal May(hem) with the biggest guns, bloodiest gibs, and deals from 50-80% off! May we cause ALL the chaos this weekend.

If we're talking insanity, then F.E.A.R. Platinum is where we should start: a mindbending threat and badass slowmo combos come together for that perfect blend of "I don't know what I'm doing, but I ain't stopping." If we're talking frantic - then the fast and precise Unreal Tournament games are there to scratch the old-school itch whether you're in it for the gibs or the glory. Coincidentally, if you look up "gory" in the dictionary you'll find a picture of Mortal Kombat next to a severed spine - go ahead, it's a fine way to set the weekend promo mood.

Finally, since we're on the topic of mayhem, then we can't help but think Rise of the Triad 2013: unapologetically old-school, it's the only modern, moddable, multiplayer and mayhem filled title that connects players across both Steamworks and GOG Galaxy. With the latest update (live now!), there's no better time to get weird, get wild and GET LUDICROUS.

All that and more, including SiN Gold, Aliens Versus Predator Classic 2000, Rise of the Triad: Dark War, Shadow Warrior and so much more, are here to cause every kind of unseemly circumstance and the ultimate May(hem). 25 games at 50-80% off are on sale until Tuesday, May 26, 3:59 AM GMT.

In short, Wolfenstein 3D in space (they are even using a modified engine of Wolfenstein 3D).
Nothing for me, good! :D

Thanks for the info! Do you know if the Mortal Kombat games are good ports?
Nice way to complete my Unreal collection. ;-)

jforte: The original Rise of the Triad and the Blake Stone games are supposed to be a trilogy of sorts. Are they worth picking up if one already has the Rise of the Triad remake?
avatar
Tannath: They are not a trilogy. They just use the same game engine, that's all.
Oh I see, thanks for clarifying. I guess I got confused because GOG gives a series discount if you buy these three games together.

At any rate, would anyone recommend picking them up? Edit: Nevermind, I see the topic already came up!

I don't have the Mortal Kombat games, so I can't answer that question in full. The only thing I do know is that these are the DOS ports. Mistermumbles, however, has given some info regarding the games.
Just shooters and "action" games... Good, I can skip this sale then except maybe Unreal Tournament... but I have the whole weekend to decide.

Maxvorstadt: DD? Dagobert Duck?

CharlesGrey: Fun fact: His international name is actually Scrooge McDuck, so most non-Germans quite possibly have no idea what you're talking about. :P
Fun fact: His danish name is Joakim Von And.
I hate when only one game is on sale from a series .
Bought the second Blake Stone game and Shadowgrounds.

Thought about double dragon but no mac compatibility :( Will need to look into wine stuff but no time right now, I'm off to the Philippines!
Getting FEAR and the Wolf 3D engine games (surprised I didn't have those yet). The remaining games that I don't have are only 50% off. I don't know if MK or DD Trilogy will be offered at a better discount, but I think I'll wait a little longer to make sure.

Thanks GOG!

Unless I'm incorrect in my assumption that these are the DOS versions of Mortal Kombat 1-3; they are really good. The first part in particular is far superior to the other home ports of the time. Very faithful to the arcade versions, from what I hear.

LGR did a very positive review of the first one here.
