IronArcturus: So did the first Darksiders work well with an Xbox 360 controller? How well did the game engine run?
Yes, the game was first released on XBox 360 and PS3, so it works pretty well with a controller (some would argue that a controller is a must, but I did complete it with no problem on KB+Mouse). The game, however, isn't well optimized and you might experience slowdowns here and there, even on rigs that surpass the recommended requirements. Nothing game-breaking, but surely irritating.

Does the game run better in fullscreen mode? What resolution did you use?

I didn't play the game on a window (though you can do so), but the resolution I used on Fullscreen mode was 1360x768.

lol stop scamming GOG and Nordic, I remember the 'Buy nordic games before they disappear forever!

I fell for that one. :(
Speaking of Darksiders, how is the difficulty of this games? I heard that part two shall have a high difficulty. And how is the difficulty of the riddles in those games? Can someone like me, who doesn`t like puzzles in games at all, solve them without frustration?
And how much roleplaying is in those games?

Does the Options menu have a lot of functions to adjust the details?

The first Darksiders is pretty easy, even on the hardest difficulty, while the second Darksiders offers a nice challenge on the hardest difficulty. As far as puzzles are concerned, they weren't anything particularly taxing in either of the two games.

Maxvorstadt: And how much roleplaying is in those games?
Not that much, really. Darksiders 2 does have a more Diablo-like approach with equipment, random loot, levels and skill tress.

That's a shame. I didn't realize the menus were so sparse. :-/

Have you tried Pax Imperia at all? Does it compare to Alpha Centauri?

Sorry, no idea on that one.

Well, it`s more some kind of MoO, but realtime (pauseable).
I didn`t find it good, the pause function doesn`t work right.

Oh, and thanks @Gragar for the info about Darksiders. The options menu does look very empty, indeed.

So the Pause button in the game doesn't work at all? Also, have you tried System Shock 1?

Well, the pause function doesn`t work right. You can slow down the time, but not really pause, although the manual says that you can pause. And I remember that there were a few other things that didn`t work right, but can`t remember exactly what those things were. I played the GoG version, so it`s unlikely that those issues have been patched.
For your second question: No, I`ve never played one of the System Shock games, so I can`t tell you anything about them.

So Pause function notwithstanding, is the game still good? :P

Well, after realising the issues I mentioned I didn`t play it any longer, so I can`t really say if it`s good or bad. But from what I saw I would say it`s mediocre.
Just played the first 30 minutes of Darksiders II and it's quite good.
I was afraid of the mouse and keyboard controls since it's a console port but they are very responsive. Only had to change dodge from Alt to Ctrl.
