Make some time for timeless classics: 60% off gems like the Ultima series, Dungeon Keeper Gold, and Jade Empire, or 85% off the whole package!

If you've been a gamer for more than one month, chances are you've already crossed paths with Electronic Arts by now. It's no coincidence, since their catalog is choke-full of (still unsurpassed) classics from any genre imaginable: Looking for a deep strategic experience? A point'n'click adventure that fans still hold dear to this day? Epic RPGs revered by enthusiasts for their groundbreaking mechanics and impeccable execution? They're all here - pick the ones you missed for -60% or grab the entire selection for an unbeatable -85%!

Trailblazing, ambitious, hardcore: there are plenty of reasons why the Ultima games are still considered to be among the few landmark RPGs that withstood the test of time, thanks to their staggering attention to detail, innovative mechanics, and immersive world.

Can one of the best asian-themed action/RPGs of all time come from a western developer? Sure can, if it's Bioware we're talking about. Their Jade Empire won everyone over with its exotic locales, enchanting mysticism, intriguing character development, and fast-paced combat.

Now, how many fairytales let you play as the villain? And that's only one of the reasons why the often whimsical, occasionally twisted, and consistently magical Kyrandia series is still remembered fondly by point'n'click lovers everywhere.

Take a glance at the Electronic Arts collection and you'll immediately spot at least four classics. Take another and they're now a dozen! So go ahead and pick the ones you prefer for 60% off: Syndicate Plus, Theme Hospital, Crusader: No Remorse, Nox, or any of the others. Grab them all at once and it's 85% off!
The promo will last until October 11, 3:59 AM UTC.

mecharma: All of these are going in the IDEA BOX(tm)!

Will shake it hard, and see what falls out :)
Don't shake it too hard, or you'll risk getting just a bunch of broken bits.

Then again, perhaps that's what you want so you can glue the pieces together on your own.

By the sounds of that, I predict another promo!

13) Weekend Nuclear Fallout Shelter Promo!
- All of the Bethesda Fallout games
- Other games of a post-apocalyptic theme
Excellent promo! Already own everything, so nothing for me this time, but thanks GOG and EA!

Same here, I wish the new EA stuff were bundled also, but probably it's to early for those.
14) Saints and Sinners Weekend Promo!
- Games that have references to good/evil deities in their title or prominent characters (including the player) in the game, or loosely connected with good and evil concepts.
- Sin
- Beyond Good and Evil (Quick, before Ubisoft gives it away for free on Uplay next week for Ubi30 promo!)
- Messiah
...

15) The Great Lycanthropic Weekend Blowout!
- Games that contain werewolves or other were-creatures
- Sang Froid
- Van Helsing series
- any D&D or other RPG games that have were-creatures
<add to the list here>

skeletonbow: 6) The Please Don't Faint Weekend Promo!
- Arx Fatalis for 75% off. That's it, just that one game, you know, for the first time ever on sale.
While not the desirable 75% off, Arx Fatalis was certainly discounted in the past (and even maybe more than once!). That's how I ended up buying it at 60% discount back in the summer of 2012.

So.... yup.

A few more ideas:

---Fine and Performing Arts Sale: Soundtracks (particularly for games where the soundtrack was added well after the game itself arrived), artbook-type DLC/Deluxe edition upgrades, and the long-neglected Movies section.

---Back of the Bus Sale: Any games that show up on the last 5 pages of the catalog when sorting by "User Rating".

---Knights Templar Sale: Any games involving Templars or Knights [Broken Sword Shadow of the Templars, Knights of the Sky (yes, I know it's a flight game), Shovel Knight, Defender of the Crown, etc.].

---Triple Threat Sale: Games that are available on all 3 platforms: Win, Mac & Linux.
Keep the ideas coming guys, I AM making notes!

Yeah, 2012 is before the conjunction of the spheres... Just sayin... :)
What about
"Good Games for Oldies" ?
I know I'm not the only old and slow gamer with an old and slow machine.

Or
"Friendly Games for a Family Weekend" ?
My grandkids aren't ready for Postal yet.

Your promo sucks. Keeps saying I already own all games. That's where you should change something.

Alternatively, "The Great Fatalistic Arx Fatalis Weekend Promo" could consist of only Arx Fatalis with a 0% discount, but every single other game in the catalogue has its price tripled for the duration of that promo, so AF would actually be the cheapest title in the store for a short while.

Actually, believe it or not Marcin Iwinski suggested jokingly in a video interview several years ago that GOG might have to do an "anti-sale" sometime to stop people from spending all of their money on games due to the success of one of GOG's previous promos. That was at least 3 or more years ago so it would likely be almost impossible to dig up though but it was kind of funny. Having said that... an anti-sale might just be another crazy news-getting promo to catch more attention. :)

Sure, there would be whiners that bitched about it, but there are whiners that bitch at every sale promo idea! :oP

So I have to suggest Marcin's idea back to GOG:

17) The Great Weekend Anti-Sale Promo!
"We want to help you stop spending all of your hard earned money on video games to help you curb your addiction temporarily, so this weekend we are anti-discounting the prices of all of the following games by 25% this weekend only! Now you can spend time playing games in your backlog that you've bought in previous sales and haven't gotten around to playing yet. We want you to enjoy playing your games, not just buying them, so hopefully this will make you resist buying more games this weekend! Beware though, once the promo is over, all prices return to normal so play those games while you can!"

Could be a good idea for the first promo after Christmas/New Year's season :-)

I googled around and believe it or not, I actually found reference to the anti-sale LOL

http://www.wired.co.uk/article/gog-qa

"Are you doing any work to combat the "Steam library-type problem" where you pick up so many affordable games you can never hope to play them all?

Actually we are thinking of running an anti-sale next year

[laughs], where, for a day, our entire catalogue will be priced at 150 percent of original price with a big message splattered across our main page: PLAY THE ONES YOU OWN!"
