66% off Arcanum, Pharaoh + Cleopatra, Gabriel Knight, Vampire: The Masquerade, Space Quest and more....

Activision just turned 36. What a number that is. Starting in 1979, Activision changed the developer/publisher dynamic in gaming, and soon became one of the biggest forces in the biz. Today, they own some of the most classic IPs here on GOG.com. So happy (belated) birthday, Activision, we totally didn't forget - we're celebrating the occasion with the entire catalog at an all-time high 66% off!

Do you want to be a hero? Set off on your Quest for Glory, an adventure/RPG hybrid full of humor and well-designed gameplay. The quest for glory games will let you grow from just a graduate of the Famous Adventurer’s Correspondence School into a hero of unparalleled skill. And whether you're a fighter, a mage, or a thief - overcoming open-ended challenges has never been quite as fun since.

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura is a legend. It's one of those games that were only possible in a very particular time of RPG experimentation on a massive scale. Troika's became famous for delivering exceptional vision and gameplay help back by bugs, but a massive community effort to bring titles like Arcanum to its intended glory mean that there's no better time to experience the legend that hasn't since been repeated.

Pharaoh + Cleopatra & Zeus + Poseidon are the definition of addictive. They strike the perfect balance between refined design and relatively simple gameplay that combine into a historical city-builder that you really, seriously, won't be able to put down.

There's more, of course, with Space Quest I+II+III, King's Quest IV+V+VI and over 30 Activision titles at 66% off. Happy Belated Birthday, Activision! The promo will last until Tuesday, October 6, 3:59 AM GMT.

Already own 21 oth those games but I think I'll find a place on my shelf for another one ;-D
Another vote for more Activision games, they're sitting on quite a few classics. I know there's little chance to see Blizzard's stuff, but still.

Russonc: may check this out more this weekend.... Spycraft is another in this group that's had my eye for a while now (skipped it when it originally came out for some reason).
Spycraft is pretty good, I recommend that one. There's little hand-holding and it involves a lot of deduction, so you feel smart when you figure out some of the puzzles. :-) Note that several of them require a good ear, like when you're analyzing sound clips.
I was interested in getting Dark Reign, but after reading some reviews it seems like GOG dropped the ball and it doesn't work at all on modern systems. Too bad.

Leroux: I fear my comment was more sarcastic than hopeful; I already own the game from DotEmu, but as thankful as I was for that past opportunity to buy a digital DRM-free version of Bloodlines, I still don't understand what's keeping them from making this offer permanent. Especially since they'd most probably make a lot more money here on GOG than they did on DotEmu. I doubt it's related to license issues, as the game is availabe on Steam; it can't be the price either, if GOG agreed to sell Quake 2+3 for 20 bucks; and Bloodlines was offered DRM-free before. So what actually makes it "extremely unlikely", unless Activision still looks down on GOG's DRM-free policy (while making money off their backlist here)?

Grargar: Maybe GOG's and Activision's original deal was made before GOG decided to extend their pricing points to above $9.99. In that case, though, I wonder how long it would take till a new deal was signed.
Would that also explain why there hasnt been any new activision games for a long time? Seems odd most of the big original publishers havent coughed up any new games lately..

Well, Ubisoft released 8 games after their 2-year hiatus and Square-Enix released Revenant recently, but EA has remained silent ever since the previous June and today is exactly 3 years ever since the last Activision release here.

All of which is making me wonder why such long gaps between releases from those guys?.
Where's Bloodlines ? :/
Actually a good sale for me. Time to finally pick up these titles:

Return to Zork
Zork Nemesis: The Forbidden Lands
Dark Reign 2
Torin's Passage

Ta GOG!

It works fine on my 64-bit Windows 7.
Any chance of MechWarrior 2?

Undeniably a great set of games. I own all of them and would happily buy more if Activision allows more to be sold here. The ball (and my potential spending) is in your court, Activision!

Revenant doesn't really count though, does it? The only reason it wasn't released earlier was because GOG had such a hard time getting it to work properly...

Maybe, maybe not. GOG had also commented that they have plans to release Gex 2 and were gauging interest in Thief (2014).

Really? I missed that. Interesting...
