A classic omni-cure with prices miniature! 66% off Pharaoh, Arcanum, Quest for Glory 1-5, Phantasmagoria, and more!

They say time heals all ills. And if there's one sure cure for any known ailment, it's got to be time spent gaming. Whether you got the blues (pet hamster expired), the reds (a coworker ate your tuna sandwich) or the greens (coworker instagrammed himself in the act), spend some time with these classic beauties and everything will go away. Especially time. So join us in Activision Therapy with 66% off the price of admission, and emerge a new person!

Bah, they don't build cities like they used to anymore. We definitely got a thing or two to learn from the ancient Pharaohs, aside from pulling off that wicked eye-liner look. And that's how to manage majestic settlements, erect timeless monuments, and maintain a healthy economy based on trading goods.

So you want to be a hero? Perhaps a thief or a mage? The adventure/RPG series that defined and refined the formula of alternative gameplay paths based on your character's skills, puts you on a Quest for Glory across fairytale lands, where whimsical adventures and magical creatures await.

A cursed love story, spanning centuries of death, despair, and brutal exsanguinations. A party-based action/RPG with intense combat and immersive character development. The bloody quest of a fledgling vampire seeking justifiable Redemption. A true cult classic.

This should be all the prescription you need to begin your Activision Therapy. There are over 30 capsules of great fun inside this Weekend Promo, including Call to Power 2, the Zork series, Spycraft: The Great Game, the King's Quest saga, and many more! Just remember to sit down with them at least three times a day after each meal. The promo will last until March 8, 4:59 AM GMT.

Just launched on GOG this week.
Seems like it's pretty similiar to those games.
Nah, I'm currently with Intel Integrated graphics, and that one doesnt support it. Besides I'd rather spend 3 euro than 9 on a game in a genre that I might not enjoy at all (not to mention a game that I wont get to play soon). So choice is between Zeus and Pharaoh really.

@Risingson: thanks for the insight, "Harvester" is now wishlisted. I'm not into adventures much but I like Cronenberg and a good psychological horror story.

I'm not sure if i want to post my usual Weekend Promo recommendations. To be honest, and i'm not exaggerating here, i'm not really sure if i'll bother checking out an Activision promo again. I mean, come on Activision, you have released a great collection of games on GOG already but it's been ages since the last one you know...
By now I think the chances of Activision abandoning GOG and pulling all their games from the store are higher than those of Activision releasing more titles here...
Lots of good games here. I've never played a Zork game. I may give grand inquisitor a try.

Yeah Harvester is pretty fun, once you get to the second "disk" it goes downhill.
The journey there is quite unique though.

(Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)
Lethis, despite nice visuals and athmosphere, seems (unfortunately) less "polished" on some points than the old quadrilogy Caesar III/Pharaoh/Zeus/Empire Rise... and so the price may be a little too high (to my taste). Not that the game is bad, but I think simply not for a beginner and for this price (I personnaly suggest more the spiritual predecessors, see below). (but I may be wrong, given the fact I don't own it, but I watched some let's play and read several reviews).

chromeneon: Also I never played any of that city builder stuff, and both Pharaoh and Zeus look nice to me. Which one should I get to try the genre?
I own the three, but Casear 3 is so good that I still haven't played the others two ! But from what I know, Pharaoh is supposed to be the best of the 3. They are all very high quality city builders and improved with each game (first was Caesar 3, second Pharaoh, and finally Zeus), I would say : if you can take only one, take the setting (and visuals) you prefer between egyptian and greek :)
And there are widescreen mods for all of them ;)

Hope this helps a little !

Interstate 76' may interest me but... does anyone know if it works on Win7 64bit, with a geforce GT440 ?

And I've yet to get into Pharaoh or Zeus..
Most of these games have been 75% off or more in other promos so i'll pass. :D

chromeneon: Scratch what I wrote about considering Phantasmagorias, just read a review of Phantasmagoria 2 saying GOG released the 256 colors DOS version instead of the 16 bit Windows version. Kinda defeats the purpose for a movie-like game.
Would the Windows version even run on a modern computer?

Anyway, I too am surprised Activision is still here. I guess they can be bothered to spend a few hours every year re-newing a contract, but creating a new one to let new games come here, or let GOG fix up some of the old games here better.

No new releases from Activision, ergo no new purchases here.
Oooffff.... Sierra games under Activision flag.
Same as Lucas Arts eated by that shark Disney. :(
Already bought what I wanted from Activision very longtime ago. Come on Blizzard allow Activision to release a few more games here.

high rated
As a side note, I do feel sorry for the GOG copywriter who has to come up with a new way every time of selling the same product. By now they must be just as sick of this tired gruel as the rest of us and are wishing for a fresh pinch of salt to liven it up.
Perfect timing, GOG! I was just watching a TV show yesterday and there was a joke about an "ancient" computer reminding one of the characters of when he used to play Zork. This made me come to GOG to buy them, and here they all are for the weekend promo! Ah perfectly timed spontaneity. :)

Well this is what GOG does, isn't it, optimizing old games for the new systems. They have done in for quite a few other games so I don't see why they can't do it for this one, especially when visuals are very big part of it.

Hmm, meditate on that I will. I have no clear preference between either culture. I might watch some gameplay videos on Youtube to decide which one I like better. What I've read is that each one improves the previous, so that means Zeus should be the most polished one. That sphinx looks so cute though :-D
