in other news, I was reading earlier about how pornography is recommended educational viewing for small children.

Freedom of speech is antithetical to everything those in power believe and want to do. How people do not connect this to political correctness is beyond me. It's obvious as the nose on one's face. The growing belief that many have that words actually are as powerful as bullets or bombs is a dangerous one, and now courts are backing it up with the power of law. Pretty scary times we're living in.
On the plus side, a ruling like that is nearly impossible to enforce except in certain cases of defamation where someone actually files a suit against a specific website, and even then using this ruling to prosecute can be appealed. I'm not too familiar with EU law but it would seem to me that using this decision as a broad stroke against internet free speech would be very difficult... for now. Still, it's another brick in the wall.
