Desmight: The issue is that a lot of games don't remain available for purchase forever, on GOG. If you lose them, they could be gone forever from your library, because you could not buy them again.
In case GOG doesn't answer your question (and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't), there is a simple solution; buy them as gifts. If they are removed from your account, redeem them and they'll be back.

That's true, I've already thought about that, but if they are not tied to my Steam account's activity, then I'll waste some money that I could spend to get new games (yeah, I could trade them, but let's keep it simple for now), and that's why I'd like to get an answer. If I don't get it in a reasonable amount of time (like a week or two) I'll ask the support team to close my ticket and I'll draw the conclusion that I'll have to keep my Steam account (and periodically give a look at it to ensure that's everything ok) even when I don't use it anymore.

Oh you dont have to check up on steam that much , i have people in my friends list who havent logged on for years and their accounts are fine , just be sure to enable the authentication method so that there is no chance of anyone trying to login.

Alfheira: Doesn't that mean the system can be abused?
Yes, absolutely and without doubt. They're threatening Draconian punishment precisely because they have no way of systematically checking whether you're doing wrong. All this has to be and will be decided on a case to case basis.

It still works, of course. With the GOGers, because they're used to paying for DRM free - and therewith easily exploitable - software (while the Steamites often don't even understand the concept). Think of the modes that GOG's return policy could be abused - that's even worse. Then again, the worst offenders usually are stupid enough to (a) never ever get enough until they're caught and (b) they proudly brag about their wrongdoing.

So, again, the people who think they're clever but really are only insufferable crooks, they get what they deserve. No need for more clarification.

With today, no answer in 20 days. 10 or so days ago I asked them to close my ticket, and they didn't even do that. They simply don't care, at this point. If someone from the Staff reads this, please close my ticket (ID 195875) if you don't want to (or can't) give me an answer. As I've said in one of the replies I left in my ticket, I've drawn my own conclusions. Silence is often better than a loud answer.

UPDATE

Apparently, after calling GOG out, I got an answer that I consider satisfactory, if you can read between the lines:

"[...] As for your question, we always try to approach such situations individually. While your games should not be removed if your Steam account gets hacked or mistakenly banned, we cannot completely guarantee this won't happen by mistake. However, if you ever notice that anything was removed from your account (for example, you can check the list of your orders here: https://www.gog.com/account/settings/orders), please write to us and we will restore the missing content. [...]"
