The title is my opening statement, we need those games. They are fun to play, they are good JRPGs and IF considers the Western market could benefit from them.

As they have noticed, there is a big demand for such games in the West. Right now the "moe" anime style is increasing in demand and the PC games in the series are already localized so there should be no hindrance to releasing them all on GOG.

this is both a big business opportunity for you and a fair amount of new games for your audience.

I promise I will buy every single Hyperdimension Neptunia game you release on GOG, sometimes even at full price to prove my devotion, and I promise I will try to get new customers for the series if you release them. That is my only possible offer to encourage you to strike a deal with IF and Compile Heart and release all the games here.

Heck! You could even release the anime on the movies part if you have not given up on that project.

Come on! The only thing that stops you from releasing them is your hesitation. I know many other users here want the games to be released too. We want to know the rest of the story of that alternate gaming industry.
100% agree, episode VII will be released on Steam in a couple of days... and here we still only have episode 1 :)

Not to mention the games are from one of the few Japanese publisher/dev that is not traumatized by the idea of releasing its games DRM-free, so no excuses!

True. We need more games from publishers and devs such as IF, Compile Heart, and Nihon Falcom. They are the real big ones in the Japanese RPG market. Compared to them Square Enix is a dwarf. Anyone who ever felt curious about the Japanese gaming industry knows that Nihon Falcom and PC gaming are the true leading forces in Japan.
I'm probably guessing the first one didn't do too well on here so IF decided to release on steam only.

Gog is really slacking off on the animu games market. Senran Kagura was confirmed for release here by Xseed but somehow isn't here yet, and steam gets both older and newer VNs released every other week.

Now I understand there's some shit in there and gog maintains some quality control, but we're also missng out on some pretty good stuff.

Yeah I don't think so, were did you hear that?

Do we? :P
Just joking.
I would have tried HN, if it had a nice fantasy\scifi setting instead of a "console world" +_+
I'm bitter at moe nowadays. I liked anime before it came along.
I'd need a demo or a steam test run before I'd commit money for that title.

The setting is one of the better executed parts of the series imo, I like how they turned the "console wars" into an actual story.

as well as snarking at the console wars and video games as a whole

Yeah. GOG is neglecting some awesome games and bringing some subpar ones. I mean, compare any Japanese game to for example Firewatch and, well, the Japanese game will always be superior. And compared to the GOT games, any JRPG is better. I don't know what is their quality control lately, but they are neglecting pretty good games.

Considering how long it took GOG to bring the first one here, I'm blaming legal issues (you'll notice that the first one isn't published here by IF, but by Retroism).

Ask Xseed about that. They said that they have run into issues with the DRM-Free version.

Oh, sorry. Well, my source, well, some friends who were very interested in Nihon Falcom before the company even became relevant in the West, and the reception of series such as The Legend of Heroes in Japan. On the PC gaming being the leading part, I once read a few articles which mentioned PG gaming was slightly more popular than console gaming in Japan because Japanese people had at least one decent computer per household, which made PC gaming a more efficient option. In fact that is why La Mulana makes many allusions to old PC systems (I think it was the Amiga) because that is what Japanese gamers see as very retro.

Edit: Correction, it w
as the MSX, not the Amiga, and in fact Nihon Falcom is like Square-Enix' grandfather. They were the first to make an actual JRPG.

So, you can call me zealot, misgoynerd, basement dweller, otaku, hikikomori, mega weeaboo, idiot, or whatever you want, but I will campaign for the release of these games on GOG and I will do all ethical and honest things in my power to get them released.

Now, I will put here the wishlist links in case you have not voted yet. If you have not... What are you waiting for! NepNep needs your faith.
