Yeah, ban gdfgerterter. What a wall of spamming poo, blaaa
This really begs the question why GOG hasn't implemented some simple anti spam protection. Is it really that hard to limit the number of new threads a freshly made account can make ?.Cheers

I'm not super active here on the forum, but from everything I've read from other posters it seems like gog aren't particularly keen on making any efforts to fix this kinda thing or improve the forum environment in general.

They tried doing so by restricting newly-created accounts from creating threads until they made a purchase. Obviously, it didn't work.

No wonder this didn't work.GOG has sales up and going every week, and these disabled spammers buy the cheapest game and get to work.... They should really try to limit freshly made accounts based on rep. When the account hits a certain rep level, he gets the ability to post multiple threads.Until then, only one thread per day.Let me know your thoughts,as this is important stuff ;).Cheers

perhaps there can be different tiers of users based on rep and and with each increasing tier one would be able to create higher number of threads daily.
I don't think there should be a limit on posts though. what do you people think?
Have a nice day!

edit: my first post in the forums, by the way. :)

Unfortunately, that would cause more harm than good, as the Rep system on this forum has been abused to the point where it is no longer reliable.

A scammer could easily create multiple accounts, and have one account upvoted by multiple others, resulting in a spam account with a high Rep.

Also, the system has been abused the other way, and it wouldn't be fair to penalize the victims of downrep abuse.

Fair points I guess.

As a recent member I had not seen such a flood of spam before.
Do the staff monitor this kind of situations?

They do actually. But they react rather slowly since the process is not automated. And than there is also the fact that a lot less people report spam than usual.Cheers

Given the length of time it's been sitting there with no action most people don't see the point in wasting their time reporting it when fuck all gets done...
There seems to be no national holiday in Poland. I wonder what happened...
The GOG forums are too niche for GOG.

I'm sure they are working on it.

Making today a holiday, not fixing the forum.

I think it's our punishment for bitching about them constantly :P
