It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

And they are super easy to identify and eventually block. Besides i doubt we have any koreans who use korean in the general or other threads asking for help (although they could do it in PM's but it's less likely) the easiest solution is to remove unicode or block korean text, or a few other solutions like if someone tries to make a second and third thread inside of a minute or uses identical text within a short period of time the whole things gets suspended and under scrutiny, admins & spammers would hate it but the site would otherwise function normally...

It's just... stupid...

bad_fur_day1: Um, the way I understand is they are spamming to get hits on whatever website they are spamming, not for kicks.

They get paid to spam, unless I'm mistaken. I can't read the threads so, maybe it is just for kicks. Not a very fun thing to be doing just for fun if you ask me.
You´d be surprised what the concept of "fun" amounts to for certain people. Humans are a weird species.
That said I agree that they might be bots thus they don´t know fun.

rtcvb32: But if it's all going to be in korean... why would you go unless you know korean? Sheer curiosity? No bad idea... site may prey on weaknesses inherit in the browser (like IE using vb early on with no protections in place)
Some people just like to watch the illustrations in books. :P

bad_fur_day1: That was part of what I originally pointed out. No one can understand the threads so it's a bit pointless.

Not very smart spammers to be spamming an English forum with Korean or Japanese or whatever it is.
Hangeul.

This is the internet, and stupid people are all too happy to point out their stupidity and even blame it on others.

Check some user reviews for classic games and see if you can stop face palming :). For example, to some Steam users, apparently the controls for Worms: Armageddon are "too hard for anyone to master" or "arrow keys are harder to use than wasd"" yet, I don't recall having any problems. Does Worms: Armageddon deserve a thumbs down because the user is an idiot? Or how about Thief, apparently the game sucks because "it takes forever to kill zombies with broadhead arrows". In Thief you are a.....well.......thief, not a one man army. You are supposed to use stealth and speed to finish your objectives, not brute force. Problem with the game? Or problem with the user?

I haven't seen this on GoG but go to any other gaming site and see how many people think it's funny to start threads stating that they have 1337 posts? Or an in game record of 1337 wins. 1337 loses, 1337 hours played etc. Apparently anything involving 1337 is funny...................but you need to be lacking brains, maturity and pubes for this to be the case.

So next time you see someone being an idiot or doing something that makes no sense, just remember, this is the internet, a place where morons can be themselves without having to deal with consequences. Don't try and make sense of what they're doing because there isn't any to be had.

Oh, and just for the record, Korean is actually very easy to read. I speak Korean as a third language but only at a basic level (I studied it for 8 months). If you study Korean script for 2 weeks, you'll be able to read it too, you just won't be able to understand what you're reading. :)
Parlez-vous Français?
Look at it this way, at least now someone is actually posting in there. :D

louder_31 is being a loudmouth with the spam.
Spam spam spam wonderful spam!
This is getting ridicolous. I mean, I'm not a tech dude but I think a proper spamfilter or blacklist some kind of mails could be a way to prevent this.
Whatever GOG did eventually do to fix the problem seems to have worn off :-(
It's happening again... sigh...
Need to send the spammer/bot creator a one way ticket to space or preferably a black hole singularity.
Suggestion:

We need to make a bot for ourselves - it needs to derep and report as spam automatically every thread containing hieroglyphs.
I don't even care anymore. GOG is confortable giving up their principles to play with the big boys, but as a big boy, it should take care of its own mess. I'm not wasting my time reporting.
Or... we could get the forum upgrade this forum has sorely needed for a long time already
