Hunh. And now I'm only seeing the default head as everyone's avatar. It shows up right in quotes, though.

I've hit the affected forums, and I noticed that when threads have already been removed, then nothing seems to happen after hitting the "Spam" button created by the script (usually it looks like it is loading a new page or something, and then the popups show up). I don't know if partial thread removal produces this effect or if all threads need to have already vanished to produce this effect. Just a behavior FYI.

Yep. But does it?

EDIT: Nope, it doesn't. Just the quotes which were made when the avatars were normal.

That time it didn't. Odd. Maybe GoG just pushed out a patch?
I wonder if they've changed the avatars somehow? Like the ones the bots have are some kind of new default?

God knows why though unless they've done a mini forum overhaul along with tackling the spam bots...
Could our disappearing avatars signal an impending intervention? Have our GOGprayers finally been answered?

Either way, I want to throat-punch whoever sicced their spambot on us. Several days of flagging threads has brought out my inner Liam Neeson, and someone must pay.

toxicTom: Bots have avatars now?

Meanwhile I can't see the avatars in the thread view anywhere.
I didn't pick up on that at first, but you're right, they have colored avatars when looking at the list of threads. I opened a few of the threads, and they have the default avatar in the thread. Maybe GoG is trying some sort of flagging function? I'm going to try opening a test thread to see what avatar shows up.
What the heck is going on. These people are persistent.

They might be testing their spam deletion software by first testing to make sure it finds spam threads and only spam threads. Just change the avatar of detected spam threads and manually look it over, without activating the delete portion of the code. I'm going to run a quick test to see what happens when a user creates a new thread.

It's forum-wide.

I am surprised it has not spread to our PMs.

Pick a style: Taken, Rob Roy, or Darkman

I have seen Korean, Chinese, Pakistani, and Indian spammers. Despite the different country of Origins it feels like they are working together.
Now they're assaulting General (English) again.
Lol, baba is back. :D

I would love to see the IP origin for this group...
