Hi, I got wasteland 3 for ubuntu 20.04, installs with couple DLCs and all fine, but when game starts, it goes past loading screens and then wasteland cursos shows but screen is black and it wont start. any help? thx
Can you start the program from a terminal (IE, qtterminal, xterm, et al) and see what the output is, if there's any weird errors?

Also, I'm guessing it has something to do with Gnome, because they're basically turning their desktop into the Mac of Linux, with all that which entails.

on Player.log have this
Fallback handler could not load library Wasteland 3/game/Wasteland 3_Data/Mono/libAkSoundEngine
Could be the same problem as described here:

https://www.gog.com/forum/wasteland_series/linux_wasteland_3_unplayable_wo_libpulse

Can't help any more unfortunately.

Right. From that suggestion, it might be your audio service. Is it pulseaudio or Pipewire?

I think it is pulseaudio.

Let's get you upgraded to Pipewire (install the submodules Pipewire Pulse, and so on) and see how that goes.

tried that but it was graphic card that was not good for the game. I switched to other laptop and it was fine :)

Well, I hope you keep Pipewire anyway, it is a substantive upgrade over previous Linux audio solutions and a futureproofing.
