Swedrami: Was there ever a time when WW2 had been taken seriously in PC games though? I can't think of anything which would qualify for taking the subject serious.
Yes, just pick any serious wargame about the period. Anything on operational level will leave enough of an impression about the kind of meat grind that the war was while being historically accurate. Even on a larger scale, playing a game like Gary Grigsby's War in the East teaches a lot about the war.

The moment we started getting cartoony games about WW2 based on fiction is when I guess people stopped caring about it in any serious way.

Yeshu: If by "liberated" you mean, wait on the side of the Vistula river and provide NO help during the Uprising, then after both sides basically kill themselves off, roll in and establish a tyrannical occupation that would last for over 50 years, during which they would try to russify the local population and erase all accomplishments from history.. then yes the Red Pig Army has "liberated" Poland.
What you say is insane but this is really not the place for such discussions. FYI, 477000 Soviet soldiers died liberating Poland, so that you could be there today. Compare this to 66000 Polish soldiers who died fighting Wehrmacht in 1939. Boy, you should be ashamed of yourself for calling the people who died in your place what you called them.

I have quite a extensive knowledge of how the Soviets "liberated" Poland. Especially since they started the war together with the Nazis and where assaulting Polish land since the beginning of the war.

The Russian government has a long history of aggression against Poland. You wont fin a single man or woman here that views them steamrolling into the country as "Liberation".

When Putin acknowledges that the Russian government was behind the Katyń Massacre and several other ethnic cleansing act's that would make the Nazis cringe, then maybe my view of it will lighten up a bit.

Not liberating, but establishing new occupation, "just" less homicidal ( and with puppet government). And still murdering and raping plenty of polish civil population on their "road of liberation". Go with your lies somewhere else. You're either a troll or some strongly uneducated pal. You better be ashemed of yourself.

igrok: So who liberated Poland in 1945 according to you? Or would you rather exist in the 3rd Reich today (assuming the Germans would let you)?

Using realpolitik, why would the Soviets help the Polish Home Army? They were a very much pro-capitalist/anti-communist military organization who were opposed to the USSR and were very vocal about that. If the Soviets helped them then they would probably start an insurgency after the war. Why would the Soviets help their enemy? (Answer this without using emotional "freedom" type arguments please)

Game looks interesting, Wishlisted for now.

BreOl72: I love the comic style graphics.

But...the game looks like it plays more or less exactly like "Darkest Dungeon", and unfortunately, that was a game which I didn't enjoy.

Yeah,...just checked a review. They even pull "Darkest Dungeon" as a comparison to this, and the description "the game is frustrating, and -at times- even unfair", keeps me from buying it.
They aren't the ones guilty of making Darkest Dungeon, though. Regalia, their first game, is great.

falloutttt: Where are the games about playing as Nazi and kill some jews ?

If we make/play games like this, the other way around should be fine as well.

We're talking history here, there's no such thing as forbidden history. History is history!

If the history discussion is going to continue, please make sure to relate it to the game at the same time.

a quotation from game description : Meet people from all walks of life united in their attempt to overthrow the German occupiers.
It would be politically correct to say Nazis occupiers for two reasons:
1. there were antifascist in Germany at the time, small group of brave people outnumbered by Nazis government
2. occupiers were mixed people

So how did we get to a game time line? Lets go wild ^
Well, Nazis government proposed Polish government to exchange territories in 33`, a corridor to East so they could try on Russia, for big part of Ukraine with good soil for Poland. For all the reasons Polish government said `go back to hell` and Nazis did not liked that, responding `We got swastika.` in response hearing -`Yh but you got it wrong and we got pentagram, white and red so you better dig deep`...and here we are in a game on a streets of Warsaw. Lovely City by the way. : )
Oh and Russians, yh, they were lost in translation but at the end they have tried their best, sacrificing many millions in battles against Nazis.
Oh and Jews, if only Poles could rescue all Jews from Nazis hands, sadly six million Polish citizens died in WW2.
Oh and Poles, game is about Poles isn't it? Well yh, but it is about a City under attack.

Civilians vs Military forces, ultimate survival game. For the Freedom!

that's indeed wild.

Nowhere did I claim they were. I said, the game reminds me of "DD", and that reviewers also pulled "DD" as a comparison to "Warsaw", and that reviewers said it plays a lot like "DD".

And I said, "DD" is a game that I own, but that I didn't enjoy.
"Warsaw" seems to be comparable to "DD", therefore I won't buy "Warsaw".

is there any explanation why one of the female characters wears soviet pioneer red tie?
are we playing for communists or for Armia Krajowa?
Well, i decided to buy the game cause i wanted to see if it would run on < 3ghz ٩◔‿◔۶

seems it runs .... BUT things will get hot , the weird part is the graphics selection from the menu, seems you have to choose a high setting to get a decent ( less CPU bashing) result, normally you would choose weak but Unity games seem to work different (¬‿¬)

Anyway i use windowed mode so i can see how hot it gets , with full screen i cant keep an eye on the CPU temps
and they get to 60 degrees Celcius or more in no time , so the game runs ( havent played cause a 45% CPU usage (at least) is too much on this old quad core.
If the old rig had had better cooling like the latest cpu have, and more/better fans i could have played it safely without frying things.

Tarhiel: Wiped? Really? So why is there a Wikipedia link to this event then? ;)

Themken: I guess it may have been omitted, or at least heavily modified, from history lessons in schools in the east block before the fall of the Soviet Union. Anyone from the east who is a bit elder who can confirm? The British and German and others were involved too so the world as a whole knew later on. I guess I am still a bit stuck in the (bad) old times.

Also, do not confuse this game with the removed game Warsow!
Warsow ? i Googled and i prefer the Warsaw game cause Warsow is a 3d (FPP) shooter, i dont mind 3d rendered objects used like in Gorky 17 (one of my favorite classic games), but all the spinning and zooming fpp and 3d have is just a little too much :D

Yes, it is a bit too much in that game for me too and then I like and can handle 3D games.

Looking forward to gameplay videos and written reviews of the Warsaw game. I doubt it is for me despite the interesting setting.

Youtube has many videos .... i watched a few and that's why i decide to buy the game , and i am in need of new setup cause current one dates from 2007 ( that's >10 years old) so 'mechanically' it is long overdue and should have been 'upgraded with a new cpu back then, cause the last 5 years were awfull cause the poor old pc was +++ .

Anyway a new one might be possible this year depending on some factors : $ and availabillity like parts , now with the current problems things got a little expensive and we already pay through the nose for hardware in our small country.
When you assemble parts online to virtually build a pc it also shows an estimate price , problem is we always have to add another 20 or 25% extra cause things are expensive here.... and get even more expensive with the current problem...

MadalinStroe: I'm sorry to say this, but Warhammer already got all the attention I'm willing to allocate this week. Warsaw was on my wishlist on STEAM, but now I'll definitely get it here. Hopefully it also gets discounted during the Spring sale. This release deserved to be rewarded, but you can't release a TBT and RTT in the Warhammer universe, and expect me not to jump at the opportunity.
The 3d warhammer i assume ? i own the 2d game with the tiny vehicles , cause i'm not into 3d , and will stick to simple 2d.
