fisk0: Hope it'll come to GOG Connect at some point.
I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you: been waiting ages for
Dead Cells to get on Connect.

My bet is it won't ever be available there.

Just refrain from buying games.

Themken: Was not this part of history thoroughly wiped from the history books?

Anyway, a link to wikipedia's article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Uprising
The saddest part is that the uprising could of been successful if Stalin helped, but he just stopped his trooped outside the city and let the Germans wipe them out because he knew the Polish Home Army was pro-Western/anti-Communist.

darktjm: Does this game disallow proper save slots?
Does this game punish you completely randomly for making progress?
It seems to have autosave only:

As written above: in a review they mentioned that the game can -at times- be unfair. They didn't mention in what way.

Edit: oh, one thing: they mentioned that you need luck with getting "the right" recruits or supplies.

Thanks. The "autosave only" thing can probably be bypassed using side-saving, and "unfair" may just refer to the fact that the enemy is overpowered. That last note implies random rewards, I guess, which might also be bypassed by side-saving, although it's not as clear. I'll still pass on this, as I have other games that are not actively trying to make me angry.

Seems like the time when WW2 was taken seriously in PC games is over. This and the other one, Through the Darkest of Times it was.
Not to be confused with a previous game once offered here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsow_(video_game)
People really want to copy Darkest Dungeon, huh? The art style was so close I had to make sure the same people didn't make it.

Tarhiel: Wiped? Really? So why is there a Wikipedia link to this event then? ;)

Bought.
During the Communist regime in Poland most contributions of polish soldiers or paramilitary groups where ether downplayed or outright denied. Heck, to this day Putin still claims Poland was "saved" from the Nazis by Russia.

Only thanks to many polish soldiers that emigrated after the war, the countries history was not completely wiped out.

darktjm: I see the Darkest Dungeon vibe has been covered. I hate Darkest Dungeon, but I guess there is a lot more to hate in that game than just the combat style, which seems to be the only thing this game inherits. Just goes to show people have different tastes - and it's good to have diverse options - because I love Darkest Dungeon, one of my favorite games of the last few years.

In fact the similarities to that were what got my attention on this game, kinda hope it has a number of things in common personally.

I must admit I know nothing of history of Poland. Bits of WWII and that's it. A book or a movie to recommend? (top 3 Polish movies will do)

Edit:
P.S.
The last Polish book I read a few years ago was https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inne_pie%C5%9Bni. I liked it and I bought https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%C3%B3d (it's a hand away, literally, in a pile of books) but these have nothing to do with the history of Poland (I guess).

My apologies, I stand corrected then. I did not knew that.
I come from a country which also had a resistance fighters, later downplayed by communists as well (and it was not Germany), but I didn´t knew it was that severe in Poland.

Same for the Italian resistance, being there since day one. Not everyone agreed with the Fascists; on contrary, the country was split almost 50-50, and the allies would have had tremendous losses were not for the resistance.

My thoughts exactly. I love Darkest Dungeon (sadly my PC can't run the expansions), and I look forward to Warsaw because of how similar to DD it looks.

i had the same deja vu feeling when i watched some videos on Youtube, then again, more developers seem to be using this style. so pretty soon there will be dozens of games that look like that.

Its 'out of my league' for now ( requirements: 3.1 GHZ (✖╭╮✖) but judging by the extremely small demo here on GOG it looks like it has many motion effects so i would skip it anyway.

Anywa will have to look for a longer play video on youtube to be able to judge the game better, but i think it might not be a game for me.

Darkest Dungeon ? well if the game is like Darkest Dungeon then i guess i't not something i can play, i like my games relaxed without too many effects giving me sore eyes / eye strain.

Anyway i wouldn't be able to run it : it needs 3.1 GHz :D

So who liberated Poland in 1945 according to you? Or would you rather exist in the 3rd Reich today (assuming the Germans would let you)?
