Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment comes to GOG.com.

We're on a roll! We're happy to announce that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment joins the GOG.com catalog to make the world of DRM-free gaming that much better today. We're starting off with six widely requested titles:

Let's start big:
Mortal Kombat 1+2+3 just got the GOG.com treatment. If you were having a hard time getting these notorious bits of gaming history to run on your computer, boy do we have a surprise for you!

We're also launching these five heavily requested titles with big, weeklong discounts:

LEGO Batman: The Videogame -50%
LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1 - 4 -60%
LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5 - 7 -60%
F.E.A.R. Platinum -50%
Bastion -60%

It's yet another great start to yet another great publisher debut on GOG.com, let's get our fill!
Great news! Very much looking forward to trying a Lego game. And maybe picking up Bastion again. Bastion is fantastic. Great to see another publisher coming to GOG, and more old school releases in the form of the Mortal Kombat games.

Why you're doing this to my wallet GoG, why?:)
Thanks for adding FEAR and MK to your (and my) library.

yyahoo: Yes, but neither actually own the rights to LOTR. WB right now has a license to make games, but that doesn't mean that they have the ability to negotiate the release of properties from other publishers. That belongs to the actual rights holders of Tolkien's works. I'm sorry, but having both the current publisher and a previous publisher of a licensed property on GOG doesn't put us any closer to getting pulled games back on the market.
Yeah, I can't see the Battle for Middle-Earth games ever being sold again. Damn shame, I only played the first one, but it was really, really good.
They're basically abandonware at this point, and I can't see them getting out of that anytime soon.
Welcome aboard WB! This is wonderful news!
Great news....can't say more...downloading....

Yeah, this news is fantastic, and the initial launch includes...well, nothing but games people probably actually want!

I have F.E.A.R. and Bastion, but I'm buying them again to support GOG/Warner, and 'cause I'd like DRM free copies I'll hopefully actually be able to play years down the line :)

Buying the LEGO games too even though I'm not a huge fan.
Impressive news!
And another one bites the du...

Oh, I mean another publisher joining GOG! Hell yeah! :D

Keep them coming guys, thank you!
Very nice addition to the GOG-catalogue! I always wanted to try out a few of those LEGO games (I did play a demo level of "LEGO Indiana Jones" many years ago, but that's so long ago, I can barely remember it ...). But considering my huge backlog (and my very little free time) - I'll be holding out for a bigger discount before I buy the first one. ;-)
Unbelievable, my jaw dropped when i notice this! F.E.A.R. and Mortal Kombat!!

skeletonbow: The Battle For Middle Earth game series is EA, and while EA has games on GOG they don't seem to ever release any more here, and BFME games have not been sold or supported by them for several years now sadly. I'm guessing they don't own the rights to remarket them either, the licensing of the LOTR trademarks etc. is rather fickle.

gandalfnho: I know about this series being EA, but Battle for Middle-Earth rights are basically stuck between EA (who created the fames) and Warner (who has the actual LOTR rights to do movies and games). Maybe with both here is possible to reach a mutual agreement
I wouldn't hold my breath on that though. EA does not even have the game available on Steam or their own store Origin and doesn't appear to want to have anything to do with it for several years, whether due to losing the rights or some other reason. I really love these games and still play them on DVD, but I'd love to see them come back from the dead too. I just think it's incredibly unlikely due to all the licensing deals that would have to come together, but if they were to do that I'd expect to see it show up on Origin before anywhere else, then probably Steam. EA isn't very DRM-friendly by any stretch of the imagination sadly except with a handful of token ancient games. :)
Great! FEAR is my favorite horror FPS, MK is my favorite beat-em-up and the LEGO games are awesome too! What a great addition to GOG!
WTF??? HOLY $$$$!!!!
Speaking of Lego games, any chance of seeing Lego Star Wars: The Complete Sage anytime soon?

Exactly, I can't even begin to imagine how they would consider the effort expended to jump through various legal matters would give them an ROI they would expect. These big publishers like EA generally stick to their AAA games and let them die in a few years if they don't keep bringing home the bacon, then abandon most titles after that. It's one of the reasons I wont buy their games anymore except if they're DRM-free on GOG. :)
