Hello all

I was looking to buy Dawn of War from GoG and to my surprise it is not available.
Do we know when we will be able to buy?
I don't want to buy it from Steam or any other.
No, it's still TBD.
It's been speculated that re-implementing the LAN multiplayer component is what takes longer than expected.

Patience, young padawan.
Soon™.

Sadly, GOG didn't specify any closer how soon.
Honestly, at this point, I'd assume something went wrong. We've got nothing but silence since the announcement.

One of the reasons why GOG almost never used to announce older games ahead of (re-)release back in the day. This kind of thing probably would've happened fairly often if they had.
I find it funny that the game never got an Official Widescreen Patch, specially since its expandalones have widescreen options.

It would be nice to have it here, but to be frank, I didn't even properly play it over on steam. :/
Probably either they delayed it to add Crossplay because they realized it would totally not be worth buying on GOG and therefore absolutely flop without Crossplay, or otherwise they probably quietly canceled the release because they couldn't be bothered to put in the work to add Crossplay and they didn't want to experience the embarrassment of another flop.
Wait until July, they'll release it on the one-year anniversary of the announcement of the release of a 19-year-old game.
This whole SEGA deal has definitely been a bit of a blunder so far.

Yup, they definitely should have kept their traps shut until they were actually close to having a releasable product. Hell, it's also already been over 3 months since they had the Endless games announcement with nothing to show for it either.

Talk about trying to build excitement just to let it fizzle out. Oh well, I've got the never-shrinking Mount Backlog to contend with so I'm not all invested in all that. Still a bit silly though.

And let's not mention that we are still waiting for the missing Tomb Raider games that were announced two years ago.

You should read that post again. Shadow and Rise are not mentioned, only Tomb Raider 2013 GOTY.

GOG has 10 Tomb Raider games: TR 1-6, Legends, Underworld, Anniversary and TR2013.

The end of the news post says,

"And that wraps the additions that we’re excited to present to you as part of the GOG Games Festival that has begun on August 19. Of course, this isn’t where Lara Croft’s adventures end, so keep your eyes out for more Tomb Raider games possibly coming in the future." This post was made when LAU and TR2013 were released, so it implies that Shadow and Rise were likely to show up. ("Possibly" is weird but appropriate in hindsight, unfortunately.)

Epic gave away Shadow and Rise - I think one of those multiple times - but I'm sure GOG would still love to have them. It's been like 7 months since Shadow was last given away; if GOG gets the opportunity for releases, I'm not sure if they want to wait for more time to pass or not.

I'll admit I was very happy when it was given a store page and confirmed for release. I didn't expect this much Soon(tm)-ness though maybe I should have. :p

You quoted the right word as well: "possibly", meaning they didn't announce the games. We just are supposed to keep our eyes open just in case ^^

Heck, I would like to see them here as well, especially after I already got them for free on Epic.
But they were not announced to come to GOG.
Maybe they're saving it for GOG's 15th birthday.

They can announce them to tell us what they're working on.
Like:
"In the works: Dawn of War"

Just look at how many threads it has already spawned because they put the misleading "soon" there. Once you reach years, the "soon" loses all relevance. Might as well have come as a surprise release at this point. All they did was hype people up, only for it to die down completely.
