So you know how they remastered Star Craft II, it seems they are going to do something similar(hopefully same thing) for Warcraft III.

Now I know it's not on GOG yet, but look it up and check it out

Re-petition for the updated/remastered version on GOG now?
Someone sent me a PM about it and I am very interested but there is NO WAY it gets here. It is a Blizzard game and only Blizzard sells Blizzard games. No GOG. No Steam.
Ahhh, that explains it! I was wondering why the game wasn't added yet but that's a pretty valid explanation. As a mad scientist, i am reluctantly forced to resign my hopes and dreams of the genetically mutated combo of GoGCraft 3 due to Blizzardry and unsportsman-like conduct -.-
Get the original, last time I played it it ran fine, it's a pretty good game, but couldn't seem to get into it like 2.
It will never come here.

Three was always a little "cartoony" for me. Good game, fun game, but not on my best of list.
Blizzard games will never see the light of day here, Activision pretty much has a grip on it. Now if activision was like hmm ok sure then we can see it here but the day that happens is the day I grow an extra D%$K.

A lot of blizzard old games are DRM Free and they even have a few DRM Free games you can download from the blizzard account page. vikings and 2 others I believe same with starcraft 1 with the fixes for modern pc not the remasterd version.

They did? It's not even that old!
I'm pretty sure it's the original StarCraft that got remastered, not II. And I doubt that WIII remaster. Wasn't a new big patch for III just released recently? They wouldn't be doing that if they were going to release a remaster.

#1 got remastered but when you own both it's actually just one game. They give you the start screen that we all know and love and in it is the option to turn on/off the remaster.

I'm a little vague on the DRM. When they first released SC 1 for free there was none, at least that I know of, but now you do need Battle.net to start it.
Wasn't there a Starcraft II mod that was a Warcraft III remake ?
This : http://www.moddb.com/mods/waa-mod
But it's still in development.
A remaster of WC3 makes no sense, the game runs perfectly fine on modern systems, has widescreen support, anti-aliasing and all that nice stuff. Starcraft remaster made sense because SC was fixed to 640x480 256 colors and looked like ass on widescreen resolutions.

WC2 could do with a remaster or a widescreen patch though.

This was said about many games. A good portion of which did appear on GOG.

Crosmando: has widescreen support,
Needs a third-party patch for widescreen, doesn't it?

The newest patch that came out few days ago added a widescreen support for 16:9 resolutions
