ciomalau: i know i shouldn't talk to stupid faggers because everything i say will be used against me and i have the right to remain silent, but i also have some problems with VLC - when i start the program, either by shortcut or when i double click the playlist or a random mp3, sometimes it takes a whole minute until i see the user interface and songs start playing. other times it's instant. and besides this, some of my songs had their meta data removed - i mean the artist, song name, album. why is this? what i do now?

eksasol: I had this with an older version, but the latest version 2.2.4 doesn't have the problem anymore, and you may want to try installing the 64bit version if your computer CPU is 64bit.

First, you want to uninstall the old version and make sure to select the option to delete the preferences.
ok thank you man. i did as you said and now VLC start instantly. i tried to find the x64 version on official site but i didn't see so i got it from cnet

Windows: MPC-HC or MPC-BE. The latter has additional options
Other system: SMPlayer

I've been using these instead of VLC and man they are good.

I'm using MPV and VLC 2.2.1 on mac.
version 2.2.2 to 2.2.4 have a bug with subtitles. version 3.0.0-git has a bug with mp3 audio codec. So I'm waiting for a bug-free release.... I still think VLC is the best cross-platform video player since it can read stream flux and convert videos.... but as a simple player MPV is good.

I've never tried the Windows build, but on Linux, MPlayer has been a stable workhorse for many years.

I like the Android version of BS Player, but the Windows version, AFAIK, came firstl.

IINA for MacOS. It is a front end based on MPV if you want an OSD like VLC has.
