My level 25 Aphrodite deals 75% of all my DPS. And will do even more once I buy the upgade.

I stopped playing clicker heroes at lvl 1611. Progressing became too time consuming. Strangely, the farther you go, the less "idle" it allows you to be...

Yeah. But partly due to having been temporarily swallowed by the game's chatroom and its mostly very cool french users. A SOCIAL TRAP. I hate those.

It depends on how many Hero Souls you have. You should have at least 10 when you ascend the first time. For each following ascension you should collect at least 50% more Hero Souls, meaning at your second ascension you should have at least 15 Souls and so on. You`ll get them by killing special bosses or by levelling up your heroes 2000 times. So every 2000 levels you get a Soul.
Oh, and by levelling your heroes to level 1000, 2000 and 3000 you`ll get a 5x (or was it 10x) DPS bonus instead of the 4x which you get every 25 levels from level 200 on.

Here's a really helpful and well put together guide that was shared with me so, I'll share it with youse. The advice contained therein is screaming at me to ascend but, I press on...

I think this is wrong. Each time you ascend you get 1-2 hero souls, the rest are from hero levels, or from beating key bosses above level 100.

Currently farming at 119 until I get enough gold to hire frostleaf.

It's gonna take some time.

So I got frostleaf and hurried past the boss. I'm now at 138 and have levelled up Frostleaf to level 75.

And I can see why they recommend restarting here.

10.000 Duodecillion for the dread knight?!

Indeed... One of my first gilded I got was the dread knight, and I can't get him :(

Changing the options/settings to scientific notation I can see a huge gap in power at that point. He costs about 10[sup]40[/sup] while everyone else is somewhere around 10[sup]30[/sup].

Restarting will give you hero souls, and each hero soul adds +10% damage. Right now I've stocked up on 50+ and got a run to him in about 6 hours.

Ran all the way back up to level 89.
My strategy is,shutting the damn thing down, do something else entirely then come back and buy a bnunch of aphrodites and ignore Athena entirely.

EDIT: I keep thinking in cokkie clicker terms, but these heroes use levels not units.

Although that works, a decent strategy involves interacting with it every 30-60 minutes. Usually coinciding with when the skills replenish. If you don't, well nothing wrong with that but i think the levels of how much gold you need and upgrades needed are spaced so you would have to wait a very long time to get ahead for no effort. Sorta the counter-balance.

But probably the best thing is to shut the game down and not turn it on again... This thread unfortunately got me started on it again, which i'm doing while watching some Deep Space 9 for the first time.

Having done the exact same thing 3 times already feels futile.

So I'm not going to do it a fourth.

Imma play some GTA3 meanwhile.

It happens. I've got 130 hero souls boosting my damage up and it gets faster. I'm finding it enjoyable to play while watching Star Trek episodes.

I just cleared the boss at level 160 and still have not ascended. I have achieved my goal.

I have racked up 22 hero souls so far but, the next zone achievement is at level 1200.

I wonder if it is finally time to ascend, I push onward...
