Oh, this is an example of a bad comment by a bad person.

escapist23: every year I try some videogames and always end up getting bored ouf of my skull. Some I liked, like Dragon Age Origins, but the boss battles were a joke. But more and more it feels getting to like again the hopscotch games you played when you were 10. I guess this is a good sign. I'll try again next year.

AB2012: There have been a few threads like this before. Often it's a case of getting "burned out" playing too much of one thing / genre and simply needing to take a break for a while.
I agree with you 100%. There are some games that I've hated when I first tried them because (e.g.) I'd been on a run of playing FPS games. I now try to make sure I'm mixing up genres and have say four games on the go at any one time so I can flip between them - and obviously I make sure I've got other hobbies and interests that don't involve staring at a screen (which I do enough of at work)

Crevurre: yes, god forbid we aren't mindless, unthinking drone type people who like rinse&repeat hopscotch stuff like everyone else, including you by the sounds of it.
Like your silly reply in the other similarly named thread, that is now locked, you are just not worthy of an intelligent response.

Enjoy your nonsense. Welcome to my ignore list. Over and out. ;)

Crevurre: yes, god forbid we expect hihg quality interesting games and not drivel year on year out.
Then find those and support them if that is what you want. It's your choice.

I had a great BBQ with friends and family and my HTPC and gamepads were full of laughter and fun from the games I've collected over the years to be played just for these types of occasions.

Games like:

* Invisigun Reloaded
* Galaxy Champions TV
* Splody
* Streets of Rage 4
* River City Ransom: Underground
* Slipstream
* Pac-Man 256
* Mother Russia Bleeds
* Skullgirls
* The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match
* Mortal Kombat 4
* Tekken 3
* SHING!
* Xeno Crisis
* Coffee Crisis
* Flat0ut
* BFF or DIE
* Jumpala

and few others are excellent games to experiences with your friends and family in local co-op/vs mode

It sounds like you are forcing yourself to play and enjoy the games. While yes, there are terrible games with same repeating gaming pattern, very rarely there come out great games which after playing for a while could become mundane. Also, you said you will try next year, which makes it sound like you are technically forcing yourself to do this and become bored. If you buy more games and just do not enjoy them, chances are that you buying more and new games will completely bored you of games. It appears you are trying to get entertainment and joy from getting games every year and just feel empty when you do. You should maybe not get to focused on gaming and engage in some other activity. Maybe this is your brains way telling that it is tired of playing games and wants to do other things! :)

Thank you ponczo_! :)

No it's telling us there are monumental problems that are systematic around that we have to start dealing with and it will take superhuman efforts to deal with.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with gaming in general and there's some really high quality stuff that has been produced both historically and also in recent years - but if someone isn't enjoying it, they should try doing something else rather than just repeating the experiment and expecting different results.

"Nothing wrong with gaming in general" Exactly what is going on in your heads to post something like this? Wth is wrong with you?

There's plenty of wrong with gaming nowadays, but that doesn't mean there are no more good games out there.
As Zimos used to say... Business is booming
Oftentimes to the detriment of the customer.

I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with me, but you should really reflect on how you communicate with others. Manners cost nothing.

I appreciate that English probably isn't your first language, so for clarity, my reference to "nothing wrong with gaming in general" was around the enjoyment of the hobby itself - that should have been clear from the context of my reply to BookCrazy.

As for your other comments, you're getting quite hung up on issues that you're perceiving in a segment of the market, but that aren't ubiquitous across all game releases. There are enough game releases each year to be able to avoid the things you don't like.
Don't... play them then? Plenty of other, interesting activities to do.

Shadowstalker16: Although I've never tested it out myself, I've heard that going outside can be a good thing to do when games become boring.
But don't look into the bright thing in the sky. It's called the sun and it can hurt your eyes. Or so I have read.

The problems will still be there if people aren't playing them.

You can add VR systems being proprietary and tied to companies like facebook or Valve.
