Fairfox: I boughteded Pathologic Classic HD in teh GOGie sale. Installed. Ran it and when it tries to play teh opening vid I get a Win 7 error that says:

'Video playback has failed to initialise.
Please make sure that Windows Media Video 8 codec is installed correctly.'

I imagines it's beeecause I have CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) installed? I don't reaaally want to uninstall that just for teh game. Any help? Asking here because Imma never going to see any action (lolz) in the game forum.

Edz: I was wrong, by the way; uninstalled CCCP (as it took, like, five seconds) and it still does it, booo :/
Have you removed Windows Media Player? Are you using Galaxy? You could try to download the codec:
http://www.windows8codecs.com/
Obviously scan any downloaded files before using them. It sounds like a standard Windows codec has been removed, maybe when that CCCP was installed.

Fairfox: The videos totes play if I just open them in teh... erm, Explorer (?) window, tho. Very odd! And I've not changed anything. Imma kinda not wanting to install codecs from teh web, tho :/

No Galaxy, by the way.
Yes, if the movies run outside the game then its not the codec but the game. Ticket to support probably.
