gog galaxy has to be the slowest download client ever. i have 160meg bb and most clients like, steam, origin, uplay etc download 25 gig in under an hour. gog on the other hand is down to 0.9 mb/s and in 4 hours ive only downloaded 12 gig. is this really normal for gog?
do keep in mind that gog is getting absolutely hammered by people downloading the witcher 3 right now
its the servers :) you got some days, dont worry

No, but you chose to download a HUGE game for preload at exactly the same time as a few hundred thousand others. All in all, slow download speeds at this point in time are to be expected.

and honestly 12 gig in 4 hours isnt exactly slow

No, at work I've been downloading at superfast speed (and at home at max whatever my 10Mbps cable modem can achieve). This was downloading the installers though (either with a web browser or the old GOG Downloader client), not by using Galaxy.

Then again as The Witcher 3 preloads have apparently started, maybe that is bringing download speeds down now?
too slow for me too , but i can leave it for day as we have some time !

I suppose its a matter of perspective, all the other clients i've mentioned download at 7-12meg/s for preloads, updates etc. my concern is that any large patch for the witcher 3 will take days to download. I hope its just this preload that is incredibly slow... its now running at 0.1 mbs.

Oh well only another 7 days to go :-)
it's the end of the world. 0.9mbps... christ that's the average speed of my internet in scotland. Big whoop :P

i hear ya, but if you were paying for 160mbs and didn't get a good download speed you wouldn't be happier either.
If you can't stand the normal slow download speed at time like this, torrent it after release. Well, you bought the game, so you can download it legally from torrent as well.

Torrent will give you full speed at that time.
I had 0.2MB/S in Galaxy and 20MB/s in GOG Downloader.
Just install it into your GOG Games folder and Galaxy will automaticly detect it when you are done downloading.
