Nightbayn: My download speed for the first 3 package was about 500 kb/s. Best case with my connection should be 1.2mb/s. The 4th package is now less than 100kb/s. Anyone have the same problem or can help me how to fix this?

Darkwalker: I should be able to get as much as 1.8 MB/s with my connection.
I'm stuck with 0.9 MB/s for the most part.
Its \likely the servers being slow due to thousands of people downloading Witcher 3
At this rate I need more than 24 hours for one package. Pretty sad.
1.5h for 300MB and 2.7GB to go...

(Languagepack just minutes earlier was ready in 15 minutes -> 2.6GB)

Downloading with Galaxy is a bad thing to do today :/

Its possible its better today.
But if its any consolation, I can tell you that it was not Galaxy there was a problem with yesterday, it was the server.
I had the same problems with the speed using the regular download manager yesterday as I had with galaxy.
I did the manual download and every file was currupt. ( yay ) so currently DL it through the launcher and its taking forever! Can someone tell me where I can pause this thing or limit usage? Im not going to fully get into my husbands derpness but its our 3rd time trying to download it. I want my internet back, need to pause it or limit it! =(

If you download manually using your browser, then you have to check if your browser lets you pause it
If you use the regular GOG download manager then you have the option to pause the download at the top(pause all).
If you use GOG Galaxy then to my knowledge there is no pause option yet.

I used the GOG download manager today to download the new patch, and discovered something very weird.
When I launch the installer I get all the text except for the language drop down menu in what appears to be Arabic or something similar.
The install language will still be in the language you select, only the installer launcher appears to be in this Arabic like language.

I downloaded with GOG downloader, the final 15GB today @ 2MB/s Had to keep resetting my router, as I keep getting Limited connection [win7 wireless] , I reset it about 9 times.

Still can't figure it out, I don't get that problem with win xp..

TW3 is installed, runs quite well on my POS on low settings.

All the best
And all the trouble they would solve just adding peer to peer download... would take 90% of the load of their servers...
Usually download with 12mb/s... now only get 0,5 even with the small patches...
Hmmm,

I don't think "very slow" is a sufficient description - laboriously slow fits it better so far I am looking at 18 hours at 100K or less per second on a connection that can normally return 1.8 Megabytes per second ( I know that in itself is slow compared to some peoples connections ) but 100K or less I fell like I'm running dial up again.
Nope. Sorry, GOG, you just aren't cutting it right now.

Did you know what you were getting into when you were getting ready to offer all these NVIDIA players free copies of Witcher 3? I and countless others are reporting download speeds slower than dial-up.

I don't know about them, but I'm willing to go over to Steam and shell out $60 if I don't have to spend a week downloading the game at 37 kbps.

A free game is nice, but my time is worth more than what your download speeds are giving me. You want to compete with Steam and Origin? You'd better step it the hell up.

Have to say that's not a GOG downloader issue that's a router issue or an iincreased uptake of wireless in your area issue, it can also be caused by crappy signal strength and in one case an I had an Acer laptop with a dodgy Atheros network card, everything else on the network would work fine but the connection going up and down wreaked havoc on anything else.

I would suggest if you have more than one computer turn them all off and run up one at a time, check your signal strength and keep an eye on it, then enable each machine one at a time, if it is only one machine it's more than likely a signal strength/interference issue or the hardware in the one machine or the router is having problems.

I sorted my issues and eventually brought an updated router but the original one is still working fine too.

Thanks for the info. I have a dual boot system winXP/Win7 I never get limited connection on winxp, just win7, My download speed is much faster on win7, maybe that has something to do with it.

I'll just download large files via winxp, I can still install them from the win7 partition.

all the best
120 mb bb, 602mb dlc for witcher 3 had the game since day release and 1 hour in its still downloading w.t.f gog 0.2 mb /s
