Hi guys,

I have one simple question - how to get VAT invoice for the game purchased from GOG? I asked them before buying and support told me to send the request after buying the game. So I did... Twice. Unfortunately - I didn't get either invoice or answer to my e-mails. It's a bit strange behavior.

Have any of you had a similar problem?

Support can be a little slow at times. Don't worry - they'll get back to you eventually.

Edit: also, don't resend a ticket to support since it moves your previous one at the back of the queue - one's enough. ;)

Thanks for your reply. I'm curious because their response to the first question came after about 2 hours, and now two weeks passed and there is no response...

Two weeks huh? Well, that's quite some time. I'd say wait a little more just in case your ticket has been pushed in the back of the queue and if they don't answer, take the bus and pay them a visit. And bring some molotov with you.

Just joking, I heard their offices are protected by a "God Mode" cheat. ;)

Try catching a blue one on the chat, Firek perhaps..
If you go to your account, then click on orders and settings, you will get a list of your purchases. If you select a specific order , you get 2 choices, one is to see the receipt, the other to contact support.

If you select the receipt, you get a screen with the unique receipt reference, and an indication "Please also note that this email message serves as your receipt. All prices include VAT if applicable.". If you contact support, mention the unique reference number, that may make things simpler.

After 2 weeks, you should contact support again. they probably don't see why you need a vat receipt for a video game (the main use of a VAT receipt is to deduct it fRom your personnal income tax, or to get a VAT refund, but I don't think there is a single country that allows such a deduction or refund for a service that is usually for personal use )
If an answer takes more than 2-3 business days (meaning Sa-So don't count) your ticket has most likely slipped through the cracks. Try again. If it doesn't work the second time either poke one of the blues. They should be able to help.

Hmm, two weeks sounds like something went wrong. if you checked your spam folder for any missing replies already, I'll pass this thread on to our support team. :)

Actually, companies in the EU are required to report VAT on invoices for B2C transactions, and games can still be used for B2C purposes (reviewers if no key is provided free of charge, research and the like).

I am self emplyed game developer so games are my cost that can be deducted from tax :)

Ugh, sorry about that. I did generate the invoice, on May 19 in fact, but for whatever reason I either never sent it to you, or there was some technical issue while I was sending it.
I will resend it to you momentarily.
