It was originally going to come out in March of 2020 but that would put it fairly close to Cyberpunk 2077's release date in April. I guess that's the reason for the delay other then improvements.
Doom Eternal was delayed to March too, different games but large enough to be a threat regardless but it's good to know that they can keep polishing it more.

I'm not buying into the hype to be honest. I've seen nothing to convince me of a good product so far.

What have you seen from the game so far that makes you think it won't be as good as the first game or its other competing franchises like Deus Ex and what not?

These kinds of games are so rare, and the videos so far look good to me as long as you ignore the normal early alpha stuff. I'm pretty excited for it.

That said I'm glad they're taking the time to do it right.

Is that the new one set to release on Nov 22nd? Damn, I gotta wait until March? :\
It was launching around Cyberpunk & FF7 remake, so it's a smart move to push it back a little and polish it some more.
I am not hanging anyone before I have seen the game.

Yes, March 20th to be exact. It's just 4 months.

As a massive FPS player, oldschool quakcon participant... and massively huge DOOM fanatic... I'm more excited about Bloodlines 2 then I really should be, and would play this over DOOM Eternal if it came out first.

Cyberpunk 2077 would win vs anygame, hands down, T-183 days <3

God save anyone that releases anywhere near 2077...

True, but why not around the holidays then? Why 4 extra months? :\

Perhaps, but I am halfway through 2016 Doom and want to keep going with the new series.

Oh well, I guess I can always play old doom some more.

This probably a good move, and they can polish the game a bit. Honestly, I'm not excited for this game, after that whole BS controversy and what not. Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines was a good game, and the sequel has a lot to live up to, but I'm hoping they won't make a totally bad game, and that it will be at least somewhat enjoyable.

5 months. From now, that is. 4 from initial release date. I really should slow down and process what I read.

Or they could use the time to add a bunch of publisher/focus group stuff which might ruin parts of the game.....we don't know for certain.

Imo they shouldn't worry so much about what other competitor is releasing what and when & just sell when the game is ready.
Very good news: demo prototype looked awfully underdeveloped.
